Like ‘signalling problems’ - not really much help?
I recently went to surgery for an appt for a gynae issue, GP saw me same day, referred to hospital following week, ultrasound inside and out - saw consultant 20 minutes later and was cleared. I was prepared to wait weeks or even longer for each stage so was super impressed.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
You can just get them printed out off your phone!
A translation of a book written in a different language is not actually the same book.

On the topic of "vigorously denying".

One of the first things a wise barrister teaches their pupil is to lay off the adverbs.
If an allegation isn't true, say you deny it, or just say it's untrue, and explain why. Vigour is not a substitute for evidence, and it makes you look a bit desperate.
I thought it was unbelievably smug and self satisfied
So, plants are more adapted to survive than we realised? I’m astonished.

Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar was born #OTD in 1910. He found an upper limit on the mass of stable white dwarf stars.

Above the Chandrasekhar Limit – about 1.4 solar masses – electron degeneracy pressure cannot prevent a stellar remnant’s gravitational collapse into a neutron star or black hole. 🧪 🔭
Many Americans simply don’t believe the rest of the world actually exists or perhaps that it can communicate with them. We are simply a rumour to them.

I thought everyone knew that. Plus eating fermented foods. It’s getting people to do it that’s the hard bit.

Let's do another #ctenophore survey.
You are scuba divining and see this lobate comb jelly cruising in search of prey. Is it swimming to the LEFT or RIGHT?

“We want everything right now: food, money, relationships. Very few of us think that good things are worth the wait, that they in fact take time and patience. Our necrocapitalist system conditioned us to want, consume and deplete on an impulsive, “right now” basis”

Did you know that Members of Congress continue to draw full paychecks during government shutdowns?

It’s plain wrong.

That's why I have directed that my paycheck be withheld until the shutdown ends.
The trouble is , ‘ the rich’ is always defined as someone with more money that the person defining. Am I rich because I bought an average house in a London suburb 30 years ago? Because I saved in a personal pension as we were all encouraged to do?
