Hi all!

I'm Hella, and I'm an ecologist interested in the role of water in water-rich ecosystems! So far I focused on chimps, but I'd love to branch out to non-primate sps. I enjoy wrangling large databases, camera traps, disappearing to remote areas, and textile crafts 🧶

S. Anvitha: Drought led to changes in Asian elephants' body condition and social behaviors, along with increased miscarriages. These changes suggest possible welfare effects, too, and point towards the usefulness of studying welfare impacts of drought.

Animal energetics, movement, and coexistence are inextricably linked. What insights emerge when we consider these processes together? In our new paper, we present a conceptual framework that integrates these domains, outlines their connections, and highlights the value of their joint study.
