The BC Wildlife Federation is no friend to wildlife. Their solution to any hint of bear-human conflict is to restart the grizzly hunt. The pressure on wildlife is mainly human caused, with solutions needed that do not include knee-jerk "kill them" attitudes.

The grizzly hunt is no way to solve conflict between humans and bears
The evidence shows that public education and eliminating food attractants would do more than hunting to solve problems

I bought two toys as Christmas gifts at a local shop. They were each $15 more than the Amazon price. But, when you buy from Amazon you support authoritarianism and the hollowing out of small businesses. This video explains their predatory behaviour.

Greed at work. And Walmart has gutted local small businesses, along with Amazon.
Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?

"In BC’s Great Bear Rainforest, a study by CREST and Stanford University found that bear-viewing tourism generated 12 times more revenue than trophy hunting, supporting 510 jobs compared to just 11 from hunting. Protecting one bear creates a renewable source of income for a community."
Our latest piece, ‘Rewilding the Economy: Can Ecotourism Reconnect People and Planet?’, discusses how shifting even a fraction of public funding away from extraction and toward ecosystem protection would yield enormous social and economic returns.

Read this for insight into the appalling "peace plan" offered to Ukraine. It is a plan for surrender by Ukraine while increasing the threat of war in Europe.
This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.
