Mayo Smith was born #OTD in 1915. He played five seasons in #Buffalo. Hit .340 for the 1944 #Bisons. Went on to manage the Phillies, Reds and Tigers. Won World Series with ‘68 Tigers.

Hall of Famer Jimmy Collins was born #OTD in 1870 in Niagara Falls, NY. He played two seasons with #Buffalo, hitting .352 with 9 HRs, 57 2Bs, 13 3Bs, 126 runs scored, and 18 SBs for the 1894 #Bisons. A resident of South Buffalo, he’s buried in Lackawanna’s Holy Cross Cemetery.
