I've deliberately avoided ever having written about this album - which I bought when it first came out, credited solely to Mr McAloon - because there's nothing I could say that wouldn't cheapen the work's magic.
#NowPlaying #MusicSky I'm terrible at describing music. I know what I want to say, but forming the sentences into a coherent whole is a struggle. But all I can say about this album is that it moves me to the core of my being. And as always I'll be thinking about it for days. Paddy is a genius.

At a Lou Barlow gig ('An Evening With', like he's an indie Richard Digeance) and just realised it was actually him complimenting me on writing a 'deep cut' on the requests page at the front.

Felt like this when mortgage payments went up a few years ago - yes, it's horrible to now be paying an extra £200 a month, but that's been happening to renters year on year and there were no sadface articles on that, just "market forces" and "nobody has a right to live in a city"
This house tax pretending is making me more insane than usual because as a renter I’ve had to move every 1-3 years just as standard because rents always rise. And no one cares. House owners get a tiny fraction of that precarity and suddenly it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened

Sending pictures of beer and schinitzel-in-a-bun as propaganda to @alan.cool to convince him that taking a train to see Dortmund v Leverkusen is a worthwhile use of an evening of our holiday (although the cost of the tickets would buy a fair amount of schnitzel in a pub)
