Hey Apple, you've given Apple Remote Desktop a new icon (despite the product having required a ground-up rewrite for almost a decade) and you know what comes to mind first when I see it?
"These are the lungs of a smoker."
"It's meant to be a pair of black binoculars."
"In whose universe?"

Take a moment to check all of your #YouTube apps to see if “Restricted Mode” has been automatically toggled ON.

If it has been, this is likely the reason you haven’t seen recent videos from your favorite creators. Head to settings and toggle Restricted Mode OFF.

ever since i was a little kid
when i would walk through libraries
imagining that the air around me was imbued
with the wisdom of all the books and their authors
i always dreamed that
one day
i would grow up
and write something
that people bung into ChatGPT to get a 1 paragraph summary

Brainstem damage found to be behind long-lasting effects of severe Covid-19.

"Using ultra-high-resolution scanners that can see the living brain in fine detail, researchers from the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford were able to observe the damaging effects Covid-19 can have on the brain."
Brainstem damage found to be behind long-lasting effects of severe Covid-19
Damage to the brainstem - the brain's 'control center' - is behind long-lasting physical and psychiatric effects of severe Covid-19 infection, a study suggests.

What's your 4-digit PIN? No, don't tell us, but look it up on this chart. The 'hotter' yours is, the easier it is to guess or hack. Oh, and Trekkies? Stop using "1701".
Datagenetics compiled this table of common 4-digit PIN numbers, first pair on the Y axis second pair on the X axis. The more times a PIN appeared in the 3.4 million PINs collated from data breaches, the hotter or brighter the square. Notable white spots include '1234', '4321', '1701' (the number of Star Trek's USS Enterprise) and a band across 19xx and 20xx denoting the user's year of birth. A diagonal line shows how distressingly common people use the same to pairs of numbers, or all four numbers being the same.

The next time someone starts complaining about immigrants being 'undesirables' because they're all drug merchants & rapists & just trying to steal their job, ask them "So what is it you do for a living?"

The last one applies to phones with cameras, too. Of course, the more crappy pictures you take, the harder it is to find ones that are worth keeping.
EVOLUTION OF PHOTOGRAPHY
1. Boxed roll of XL-PAN Panchromatic film. 12 exposures, 6 are awesome.
2. Metal can for 35mm filk. 36 exposures, 6 are awesome.
3. SD card. 2,000+ exposures, 6 are awesome.
Any questions?

It's really a struggle to preserve reality.

I mean, everyone who conducts any kind of research or cultural heritage preservation is forced to do the same thing. Even me.

There is a before and after 2022. And we will have to protect humanity's archives at all costs, each in their own specialty or expertise.

It is a duty, now.
November 2024:
I have 2 archives. One post and pré 2022. 😂
But mostly because I'm not sure what could be AI post 2022.

I hope they do Mac versions (because that's where the franchise started).
