Some days I miss teaching. I have a wall of all the cards I have received from students in the past in my office and it makes me nostalgic.

I say this all the time: if having friends, family, or partners of different races eradicated racism then by the same logic sexism shouldn’t exist because all people have friends, family, and partners of different genders.

Any mixed person can tell you it’s very common for mixed kids to have a racist white parent

And any nonwhite person can tell you interracial dating doesn’t mean you can’t be racist

Perhaps it has something to do with Gen X’ers being born and raised in some of the more violent periods in our country’s recent history? 🤔 Homicide rates started to climb in late 1960’s & then decline in the 90’s.
