i think people are kinda correct in comparing the Quester games to Dungeon Encounters since they're drpgs with a lot of combat.

but Quester feels closer to that era of computer gaming because it has that grinding aspect commonly found in analog games.

if any of this sounds interesting, go buy it.

the final boss of the original Quester can be pretty unfair, so i ended up spending some time reorganizing my equipment for maximum damage and healing.

apparently, Osaka can be really fun on NG+, so i might try that out. i'm enjoying the difficulty and slow crawl of Osaka at least.

item collection matters much more than your character levels (though it doesn't hurt to grind).

the equipment your characters have gives them the moves they can use in combat. and your resources are replenished every time you start a fight, so you can go all-in with the best items possible.

and the designer has some designing chops too: they're responsible for the Dark Souls and Elden Ring trpg adaptations and also behind the Monster Collection trading card games.

the way i would describe the Quester series is it's like a solo dungeon crawler rpg, hence being similar to pc88 rpgs.

i got the Quester games because they were on a ridiculous 80% discount and i was interested in studying the intersections between tabletop game and video game rpg designs.

the designer is a member of Group SNE, an influential tabletop gaming design circle responsible for Lodoss and Sword World.

oh yeah, i beat Quester last night.

the game has some balancing and pacing issues at the very end, but i really liked how the core gameplay loop and battle systems worked.

i'm playing Quester Osaka now, and it's so much better. if there's only one of the games you should play, just do Osaka.

正直に、何語でもツイートから文章を構成して書くのは難しいと思います。たとえば、ツイートの中では接続詞が少なく、話し言葉だけを使うでしょう。

書き言葉とは、ぜんぜん違うです。どんな表現を考えて、どんな段落や句読点で文章を区切るか、そして受け身も大事だ。さらに、ゴールが違うので、最初からやり直す方がいいです。

だから、時間かかりしました。書くのに悩むことが多いです。ツイートなどはデマのように書きたくありません。きちんと丁寧な日本語を書きたいです。
