ABRP thinks these are the R2 variants. They are owned by Rivian. Notice there’s no Quad Motor - not enough room in front on the smaller midsize platform (MSP) is my guess.

Rivian could make a few more sales of R1 and/or RAP at $2,500 if they said RAP purchases transferred to a new vehicle purchase - including R2. Right now the purchase is attached to the VIN without a transfer option.

We haven't seen any new materials on the Rivian Treehouse (RTT), yet they filed for a trademark on it. I still want to see if the roof rails are powered and/or how they power the tent if they are not powered.

The Autonomy+ purchase at $2,500 isn't worth it unless 2 things are true:
1. You plan to keep the car over 4 years.
2. You use it every month.
Current Math:
$2,500 / $50 monthly Subscription Price = 50 Months
50 Months / 12 Months = 4.16 Years Monthly Subscription

Rivian was awarded a patent for a "vehicle kitchen". This looks like a slightly different Travel Kitchen - to sides fold out to include what looks to be a sink. Maybe a Travel Kitchen V2 is in the works?

Rivian will start taking interchanges soon without intervention - it's on the Autonomy+ roadmap. In fact, my R1T will follow exits today if it's in the correct lane. We may see automatic lane change as an Autonomy+ feature first, then interchange support soon after.

PSA: Rivian still hasn't shown us anything from the far right "affordable mass market" column. R2/R3 are built on the midsize platform (MSP). There's also an unannounced MSP vehicle. 👀

Rivian has been using Gen 2 vehicles running in Apprentice Mode to validate capabilities for some time. I do think they flip the switch on some of these capabilities in the next few months before Autonomy+ goes paid subscription. They need to be able to justify the subscription price.

Expect many of the first R2 will go to Rivian Spaces just like the last Rivian product launches - Tri, Quad, Borealis, etc. I’m not sure if they will offer demo drives for some time. Historically they’ve just been display only at launch.
