I’m not remotely ready for Christmas but the last few days I’ve been pushing myself to clean and run errands to get as much done as possible. I accidentally crashed this afternoon and took a 2+ hour nap. It felt so fucking good!

Found out my new coat isn’t rated for perimenopause. It was great the other night when I was outside for a couple hours, but I wore it to go shopping today and literally sweat through the short-sleeve tee I was wearing under it.

I made a giant batch of jambalaya tonight but I forgot I have dinner plans Wednesday, so there’s no way I’ll finish it before Thursday. My kid does thanksgiving with her dad so idk if I should wait and make the potatoes and stuffing next weekend. (And maybe some turkey but I love me some carbs!)

I didn’t have any caffeine today and had been doing ok, but I’m crashing so hard right now. Pretty sure the only reason I’m not asleep already is the raging headache that just kicked in, but it’s too late to have a soda now.

Inktober, days 1-4. Themes were mustache, weave, crown, and murky. I really like how weave and murky turned out! The other two were pretty half-assed.

Had to call the exterminator to schedule someone to come spray the yellow jackets that have moved into my garage wall, I told him I had a “membership” because I couldn’t think of “service agreement.” It worked but oof.

I’m so burned out. I got to sleep in this morning and then accidentally took a long nap, and I desperately needed that, but I have so much work to do. If I’m lucky our audit won’t actually happen this week and I’ll have a bit more time to prep, but I have to assume they could show up Monday.

Simultaneously disgruntled about the chain of events that means I have to work at home this weekend and also this week on the days we’re closed for Rosh Hashana, and also annoyed at myself for not putting in as much time as I probably should have. I got a decent amount done but there’s so much more!

Got my updated flu and Covid shots, and now taking a few minutes to enjoy the fall-ish weather. Work has been hellacious with no chance of improving anytime soon, and I’m exhausted, but at least I can take a few minutes to breathe before jumping into my weekend to-do list.
