Ok, it's late. You're sleepy. You've never seen these icons before. I made them for an upcoming game I'm making called PONDUS. These are all benefits you gain. Without anymore context can you tell me what think these icons do? The other picture is the tiles in use on a player board.
mystery bonus icons labeled 1 though 6 The yellow player board with these bonus action tiles in place. Unfortunately these icons need to work 360 degrees.

I do too! Would love explanations if you don't mind!

You did very well! I'll give folks the night to guess some more and will update y'all with what I was going for.

You did great. I'm gonna let others guess a bit more and come back and tell folks what I was aiming for.

I didn't even put 2 and 2 together until showing my wife some of these designs and she was like "oh I like that you really leaned into the domino thing and that your actions are dominos. That's so clever!" And then when I made the icon I was like, ahh shoot how do I make these look different. Tricky

I understand in context you might can deduce what they do. but I'm hoping to create super solid strong unbreakable and not confusing at all icons. Someone taught you the game and you zoned out???? You can't ask them to repeat it, figure out what the icons mean on your own! lotta clues in the ➡️ pic

🙏Miru 2 is at the printers!
Miru 3 happens whenever those darn hex kits come in. Just read an article that UPS is destroying packages that are being imported 😭 sounds like shipping into the country might run into issues. 😭maybe freight will be different. nice and smooth!

Can not recommend @ipr.bsky.social enough. So many folks have reached out about playing MIRU now that it's in stores across the nation! Also stores deserve more options for their customers! And they show at conventions! They have a great booth!

Player boards fit the box, main challenge atm. So little space, want to eliminate as much air as possible after you punch everything out. no plastic trays but easy to setup/store is a very hard puzzle! It's easy to suggest "throw it all in plastic bags" but not very eco friendly! so we're trying idk
all 6 player colors and boards. big square panels are for tracking money, a punchboard top lets you use small double sided stickers to attached on the number panel to create a dual layer board without glue! Glue tends to warp boards over time due to moisture. And the 5 bidding tiles. These should be color blind friendly ish (can't account for everyone) will also need to assign a symbol to each. close up of the magenta player's cardboard components. a dual layer money tracker. The dark purple circles in the center are the spaces for investor coins. There's a 'passive income' action and the smallest number you have revealed is what you earn. also there are bidding tiles, only $1-5 and the $5 and $1 tiles pull double duty as yes/no options.

The stock market on the right, makes it easy to track the values of GOODS and Companies. This side is mostly used for end game scoring. Where the left market (the smaller $1-5 track) is for city payouts when you do a train run. (they cap at $5, i think this might help eliminate some accidents) maybe
the stock trackers are warmer, cause when the money starts flowing things begin to heat up. There's a small track and a large track depending on the type of game you're wanting to experience.

The map in the middle has 3 options. There's a small map for 1-2 players. "Short game" and then the board unfolds for 2 options, 2 islands or 1 large map (on the back). those work 1-6 players. The small map is basically the size of the box. So there's some limitations all around there.
depending on length of game, player count and experience you're after, the map unfolds to give you 3 different options. With a round tracker at the top.

Not pictured: Cities. (they'll be on the right of the stock market). So on the left, the Companies, this is also a visual reminder of the hierarchy. Top dawg costs more a share! ($5) Bottom costs less. Space for Hex Tiles on the right. with enough space on either side to see around/over stacks!
company tiles on the left. Room for investor coins to show presidency and shares. with room for potentially 2 future stations to place out on the map. Blue boards are for City demand payout and where you put all the hex tracks.

Got a lot of work done on this yesterday. I wish it were easier to record the iterations. 100 ideas later we're here: Considering box space, table space, component sizes, wider fingers, etc. The whole game, Left to right. Companies, their rank and tracks, the map (large & small), the stock market.
almost all the boards in elseware express

Big solo game challenge. Recently got On Mars and tried it out. What a brain melter. Love a lot about this one. The ai put up a fight. What a beautiful game too! @ianotoole.bsky.social knocked it out of the park on this one. (He always does) Fun challenge. K gotta recover now.
The on mars box on the table in front of the sun. The prettiest board in boardgaming The whole game fills up my kitchen table. It's pretty big.

No credit necessary at all!

(Though if anyone asks about the icon feel free to point them to the icon page so they can put it on their projects too!)

ah bummer to hear. but hopefully icons like these will help you stand out for the folks who want to support human made art.

I'm trying to keep a positive vibe about the current state of our world. I think most of us assume good intentions with everything we buy. And it can be nice to explicitly know when we're supporting a good cause. (like human creativity) Ai.. doesn't seem to be going away. 😭 but neither is human art!

Like labels/icons/tags like 'FSC' or 'organic' and such, I think the more information customers have, the better for everyone. I really like the games and work y'all put into everything and it doesn't have to be this icon specifically, but I would LOVE to see a 'human made' note on the box.
Sunome Puzzles has it on their puzzle books! Odd Gob boldly has the icon on the front cover of their game! All of M. Allen Hall's games are human made and it's easy to tell cause they're labeled as such. I'm of course putting them on our boardgames on the back where we display all the other related logos and icons.

A few years ago I made an icon pack for folks to use (it's free!) and over the years it's appeared on 100+ products (from what folks have linked to me! Mostly books) I like the positive spin of 'human made' vs 'no ai' personally.

Caught up on the livecast from this week. Someone mentioned that other companies are starting to put 'no ai was used' kind of notes on their games and in rulebooks. I think y'all might be interested to know that there is a movement there and people look for that!

the human made icons in the pack. free to use of course. an example shown on a book. (specifically TUMULUS by Exeunt Press)
