This girl is a very special bird because she is the first kingfisher that I managed to find and track by myself. (Usually I just find and track the ojisans with massive lenses and tripods who will eventually lead me to her.) Please love her, she is the size of your thumb.

Kingfisher perched on the edge of a stone lantern in Sumida park yesterday. Orange breast, an adorable little spotted head, long ass beak for murdering things, and a florescent blue stripe cascading down her back like a waterfall. She knows very well how loved she is.

Who wore the puddle better?

Tokyo Tower and part of zozoji temple reflected in a puddle with a blue sky and white clouds and some building, probably owned by the Mori family, given the ku were in. It’s ok to like it. I will forgive you.

Tokyo Skytree not lit for the night yet reflected in a puddle by a river along with a spectacular sunset, so there is no need for man-made color this time.

Unfiltered photo of the pink sunset clouds this evening over Tokyo with my Fuji on the horizon. I always say this but I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it before. And it’s probably a good thing the child wasn’t with me because I kept shouting expletives about how amazing it was. Yes he made it home fine.
