The (video of the) person tackling the terrorist at Sydney's Bondi beach and thus ending the shooting is hands down one of the most badass things I've ever seen. Kudos.

#RandomPost: I will never understand people who ridicule the use of local anesthesia at the dentist. Dentists literally drill into your jaw - why would you be contemptuous of people who would rather have the area numbed? The "avoidable pain must be endured!" folks are a little to Riefenstahl for me.

While three snow removal trucks are busy across the street, I’m reading Lucy Caplan’s wonderful new book on early 20th-century Black opera, which we will discuss with her when she joins our Carleton American Studies Winter Workshop tomorrow (via Zoom - have I mentioned the snow removal trucks?). 🗃️

The thing about this OU essay is also that it shows why especially WoC profs’ syllabi and rubrics are usually very detailed. So you don’t have students challenging their grades because they didn’t cite any sources and believe that they know more about this than you, older white male colleague? OK 🙃.
