The inability of congressional leadership to effectively lead has created a real food crisis in every community in the nation.

If you are in my community please consider donating to Bread of the Mighty (now,) and if not, please donate (money) to A food bank.

Bread of the Mighty is basically the backbone/distribution/warehouse for most of the local network. That is where I’m focusing.
If you or someone you care about are one of the 42 million Americans who buy groceries with SNAP benefits, you should know that on the night before those benefits ended, your president held a lavish, expensive private party at his estate in Palm Beach.

That is how much he cares about you.
I hear Speaker Johnson refuses to bring the House back in session because he believes he will lose his speakership to a handful of Rs siding with the Ds.
I’ve been tracking the same seven items at the same grocery store since the week this president was inaugurated. As of today that basket of groceries is 9.5% more expensive than it was on January 22.
If we don’t get the 2026 elections right, the question of how many terms a president can serve will be moot.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Please keep the people of Jamaica in your heart today.
There are off-cycle elections in communities across the nation a week from tomorrow (11/4) and they all need your participation. If you can’t vote, you can still help.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Get your health advice from your physician, not your president.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
One defense of party politics, and of not falling in love with out-of-nowhere, splash-making candidates is that years of vetting generally keeps us from getting surprised by nazi tattoos.
It’s really hard to know what to say about this.

Just remember it every time you vote for the rest of your life.
If he weren’t such an unskilled writer it might be easier to put up with his token-conservative content.
As repulsive as it is that US armed forces could be privately funded, it is also performative and silly.

There are about 2.1 million active duty members of US armed forces. Divide $130 million by that number and you get (or rather THEY would get) … sixty-two bucks each.

Smoke and mirrors.
Happy FEST, Gainesville!

If you love (or just kinda like, or are curious about) punk rock, downtown is where you want to be through Sunday.

If not, enjoy the rest of our excellent community and the millions of dollars FEST brings us every year.

Normal people: wow, it really sucks that Trump is destroying the whole East Wing

MAGA: ☝️ well ackschully, in 1948…

Shut the fuck up.
They will pay a few hundred million (although I’m betting once the vast unpopularity strikes them those commitments will dry up,) but straight-up tax dollars will end up paying at least nine figures.
Inevitably, the ballroom thing is going to cost us a minimum of a billion dollars when all is said and done.

Which, on the scale of the $40 Billion Argentinian grift, is a bargain I guess.

Wow. Tell your farmer friends & family.👇🏽😡

Q: “What do you say to farmers who think the deal helps Argentina more than them?”

Trump: “Look, Argentina is fighting for its life, young lady…
You understand what that means? They are dying...
l happen to like [their] President.”

I don’t give a damn how much the new Epstein Ballroom costs, when we come out on the other side of this foolishness (and we will, there are no thousand-year reichs) the next president should take a wrecking ball to it on day one.

Here's the thing I don't understand. You can't as much as sneeze near a historic site in Washington without like 14 commissions, councils, and advisory boards giving you the okay. And everybody now is like...yup, fine with us? wtf?
NEW: After The Washington Post reported Monday on the demolition of the "East Wing facade," a new picture obtained by Law Dork that was taken on Tuesday shows that a substantial portion of the entirety of the East Wing has been demolished.
The “Cease Fire” isn’t a cease fire. People on both sides keep shooting at each other.

When they stop doing that, THEN you have a Cease Fire.

Right now you have propaganda.
The People of Arizona have a right to full congressional representation. Swear-in Rep-Elect Grijalva!
A little less than half of all Americans get their health insurance through their/their families’ employer.

Medium and large employers end up having to have staff who do nothing but coordinate health care “benefits,” even though their organizations have nothing to do with health care.
The US is the only nation that hamstrings employers with the cost of health insurance.

We don’t hold employers responsible for other basic needs like food, housing or basic education, why in the world do we insist that employers be part of the nation’s health infrastructure?

This is stupid. #M4A
