Which is probably the easiest route to take (not doing Halloween specific activities).

That really makes the most sense because it makes it the most inclusive. My kids are HS age and I can't recall their schools doing anything super Halloween specific anyway.

now, i'll admit that was MORE based in politics than religion, but some of the "religious right" in the county used that as their argument to support the restriction.

yeah, i mean I don't care one way or another really. I was more reacting to living in a county where people try to use their faith/religion to demand the classroom/school be bereft of whatever pisses them off.

Our county BOE literally banned rainbow flags because they made them "political"

I would think teachers maybe just have an alternative for students who can't/don't want to do it. Kind of like how for Mother's Day, my kids had the option to make something for their grandparents instead (or me).

Thinking about orthodox religions where you are not allowed to wear vibrant colors.

My point is just that those religions DON'T get up in arms about those things typically...because they accept that others have different practices and aren't pissy about it.

So, by that notion...why do schools serve pork products at all? Or why are there "Dress in <Team Color>" days?

yeah, our county schools basically did away with "costumes on Halloween", but some teachers creatively got around it by scheduling "Dress As Your Favorite Book Character" days.

It did stink a little that I had to come up with a 2nd costume, but I thought it was a creative bending of the rules

i think i'd only welcome it if we had 3 slam dunk SPs who consistently went 6+ IP and gave up just 1-2 runs...and just absolute shit behind them

In that case, use whatever you got to ensure the best pitchers are out there, even if that's the short inning guys
