I’ve received comments in Italian and Portuguese—possibly Spanish, but honestly I don’t even check; I just put them straight in google translate. I write back in English. I have conversations like this on Tumblr, too. I think people just write in the language with which they’re most comfortable.

my favorite robert redford story is that mike nichols considered him for dustin hoffman's part in THE GRADUATE. during their conversation nichols asked redford something like, "have you ever struck out with a girl?" and redford's response was basically, "i don't understand the question"

It would also help if human reporters avoided things like "released by Warner Bros in 1942" — a total howler pretty clearly picked up from Google AI, which says WB was original distributor. It was not. I can't say it enough, that cute Google summary is wrong about old movies 99 times out of 100.
