“I don’t think they get just how furious people are,” said one Bard student, who described a recent Q&A with Botstein at the president's house — where he had previously hosted Epstein — as “a shitshow. ... By the end, people were shouting ‘resign.’” Sarah Trafton and Nora Mishanec report.

"A new war with Iran may be the most avoidable war in modern history. The U.S. has no legitimate reason to use force. Iran is not building nuclear weapons, and the U.S. would have no right to attack them even if they were."

RIP, what a songwriting ninja

"True Colors": beautiful song, one of those perfect pop conceits, amazing no one had landed on it before

"Like A Virgin": totally audacious for 1984. Also one of the great opening lines: "I made it through the wilderness/Somehow I made it through." Madonna or Dante?
Billy Steinberg RIP

You may not immediately know the name but by jingo you've heard Like A Virgin, Alone, So Emotional, True Colors, I Touch Myself, I Drove All Night, I'll Stand By You and Eternal Flame.

Duvall had an innate sense of how to physically embody a character in terms of body language, posture and gestures.
I didn’t even notice that he didn’t duck for cover first time I saw Apocalypse Now.
If felt completely right that Kilgore wouldn’t flinch or be put out by explosions as he was war.
Robert Duvall is 95
Apart from his famous dialogue in Apocalypse Now, it was moments like this that made me realise how insane Kilgore was.
Bombs going off, everyone ducking but just a normal day for the Colonel.
