Watched What Lies Beneath, which I never saw because all the critics I trusted said it was bad. Well, this movie is not bad. It is a compulsively watchable marital drama/supernatural thriller that runs on star power - Michelle Pfeiffer! Harrison Ford! - and superior craftsmanship. Suspenseful!

Can you put into words what that purpose is? You and the frog have really become icons of this protest.

There’s been a nice overall whimsy that has shown up. The frog is amazing. We had a bunch of other inflatable people here last night, too. I saw people playing Twister the other day.

What they rely on is fear. So by coming out in an absurdist manner, it speaks to them, to some extent, that we’re actually not that afraid.

It also dismantles their narrative a little bit. When they try to describe this situation as “war-torn,” it becomes much harder to take them seriously when they have to post a video saying [U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security] Kristi Noem is up on the balcony staring over the Antifa Army and it’s, like, eight journalists and five protesters and one of them is in a chicken suit.

I would like full transparency from these pundits on who their friends are. What politics do their friends have? How much time do they spend with them? Etc. If they are going to lecture liberals on the need to befriend people with different values, they need to show that they are walking the walk.

Relatedly, Dems have to stop ceding any ground on the crime issue. Stop saying Trump has a point or that Rs are right about crime in cities.

First and foremost, they aren’t right. They are presenting a nightmarish hellscape that doesn’t exit.

Second, there’s no compromise here. They want tyranny.
