I regularly wonder how businesses and individuals will cope when the banking system gets hit. Those of us who experienced ’ye olden times’ of mostly paper systems are gradually being lost to the workplace. It’s a skill we probably need. British Library attack is a good case study.

I have bad news….

Develop good coping systems early.

I found this very insightful but it’s a female perspective, which may not be what you need (given the female experience of pursuing diagnosis is different, most early criteria and research being male focused).

Is it the Summer gigs? I get those emails.

I can’t see what that is as a muted word is in there, but I can’t see them joining. Shame. PSB are here.

I torched all my socials except my FB, which I haven’t used in years. I need to go in and bin that too. Just can’t face it. We were sold them as one thing, then they became something else.

Kensington probably trumps that.

I thought so but coast seems to be clear. Looks like attention seeking.

I know. I just don’t understand why. I mean - we have had so many examples of why we shouldn’t be there.

Don’t understand why anyone is still on X, tbh.

And so much post policing and splaining. Awful place. Toot off.

Performative meowing in the distance. God help me.

Tried it twice, on different instances. Hated it. If this place doesn’t make it, I am probably done with socials.

As long as you are the kind of person who will never abandon a call for help, the others know they can get away with not stepping up. I’m one of two, the other went no contact two years ago, so I act as if I am an only child, which I may as well be. It’s tough. But so are you x

This is so tough and I am sorry you are going through it. Hope your mum is ok. Stubborn elderly parents are a big worry.

I’m rural so my mobile signal is so dodgy I am clinging to that copper landline until they make me ditch it. My life might depend on it. Assholes.

it is more important to read books you actually enjoy reading than books that are Literature

Mine is being very naughty and I am shouting and being ignored.

I saw someone describe it here as ‘niche.’ That’s also code for ‘doomed.’

Hope you’re recovered soon

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
