I think it's time for the weekend to come already when I see a message pop up that someone mentioned me in a Teams chat, and my reaction is to whine, out loud: "WHY ME?".

IOA Cllr Henwood on Radio Oxford today. He claims there was "a higher fatality rate for cyclists" at The Plain roundabout and "I'm blaming it on the policy" (by which he means LTNs). There was one fatality at The Plain, and the drugged, unlicensed driver who caused it serves an 8 year jail sentence.

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

Incidentally, this IS, as they say, my Roman Empire. (Well one of them)
“If you go back a million minutes, you reach 2023. Go back a billion minutes, you reach the Roman Empire — that’s the scale of inequality we’re living with.”

Most enjoyable dream, maybe ever: a storyline about interstellar space travel, where the space ship had a pool filled with chocolate pudding for the children, and my brain explaining the technology that made it not gross (dirt, hair, spit, etc. removed instantly, pudding always safe to eat).

Every now and then I think back to an encounter where I was on a night out with friends and a man tried chatting me up. It was a pub near the uni so he first assumed I’m a student. He said he was a teacher. asked me what I studied. I told him I was still at school….
