Reading Frum's piece, I'm most struck by the fact that Republicans have taken their ACA stance on virtually every major issue since. They've abandoned governing and have become a permanent opposition party, even while in power.

I don't think this is just a MAGA problem on social media. However, right-wing media operates in an almost entirely different reality. The right doesn't really offer different perspectives or opinions anymore. It offers disinformation.

I also think we have to be willing to say he's only interested in taking credit for it and couldn't care less about the people caught up in it. He wants that Nobel Prize (and some of that Gaza beachfront). This is the same guy who posted this back in February:

I'm sure he'll do it eventually, but there is a reason he hasn't done it already.

It carries the risk of severe blowback, particularly if it's obviously unnecessary and disruptive to regular folk going about their lives.

There's nothing Democrats can say or do to convince MAGA that we like them because the right's entire media ecosystem is built around grievance and convincing their audience that the left is the enemy, hates America, hates them, and wants them dead.

Admittedly, I'm not familiar with his platform, but even if he doesn't win the nomination, he could be a persuasive surrogate who can offer arguments from a perspective other Dems can't. I say welcome it.
