Hollinger POTD Dwyane Wade. Marquette G was drafted 5th by MIA in 03. Playoff heroics started as rook against NO in 04 + continued many times over. Peaked at 30.2 ppg, 7.5 apg, 5 rpg in 08-09. Star of 06 Finals (35 ppg, 8 rpg, 4 apg). Let's forget the CHI/CLE stints. Top 75 guy.

Bonus Hollander POTD Don MacLean. Scorer from UCLA drafted 19th by WAS in 92 after being school's all-time pts leader. Had 18.2 ppg in 93-94 + won MIP award. Had injuries after never really played full season again. Great scorer when healthy. Played w/DEN, PHI + others thru 01.

Hollander POTD Gerald Henderson. VCU G was 64th pick by BOS in 78, earning starting job (peak 13 ppg). Famously stole Worthy's pass in 84. Traded right after, played thru 92. Per bio "often mistaken for a ballboy until he takes off his warmup" but is "baby faced pool shark."

Hollinger POTD Jeff Foster. Texas State C was drafted 21st in 1999 by IND. Very active big who spent entire 13-year career in IND. Mostly bench guy, peaked at 7 ppg 9 rpg in 2004-05. Got really high on his dunks. Back issues forced retirement in 2012.

Bonus Hollander POTD Ricky Sobers. UNLV G via NYC was drafted 16th in 75 by PHO. Key reserve for PHO Finals team as a rook. Peaked at 18 ppg 7.5 apg. Retired in 86. Per bio "I don't like it when people say I lead the league in fights. I'd rather think of it as gaining respect."

Hollander POTD Ernie DiGregorio. Providence PG was 3rd pick by BUF in 73. Not a super athlete but feisty + won ROY, leading NBA in APG . Hurt knee in 74 & wasn't the same. Spent 77-78 w/LAL + BOS before his NBA career ended at 27. Per bio "was & is local folk hero in Providence."

Hollinger POTD Boston's 2004 draft class: Al Jefferson (15), Delonte West (24), Tony Allen (25) and Justin Reed (40). Ainge wasn't perfect but he landed real players with each pick. Al & West were also key in landing KG & Ray Allen. Tony was a defensive beast & Reed was ok.

Bonus Hollander POTD John Lambert. USC PF was drafted 15th by CLE in 75. Spent 4.5 yrs w/CLE as backup. Peaked at 5.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg in 79-80. Waived in early 80 & bounced from KC to SA thru 82. Played a yr in Italy before working in banking.

Hollander POTD Swen Nater. Dutch big was Walton's backup at UCLA. Signed by VA of ABA in 1973 + played well winning ROY. Bounced around ABA + NBA before settling in w/SD (1978-83). Led NBA in rpg in 1979-80 (15 rpg). Left NBA in 1984 for Italy.

Hollinger POTD Glen Rice. Michigan SF was a lights out shooter in MIA & CHA from 89-99. Traded to LA & helped them to 00 title. Traded to NY in 00, starting nomad phase, where he slowed down. This bio from his nadir in 01-02 w/HOU. Bounced back a bit after but retired by 04.

Bonus Hollander POTD Jeff Sanders. Georgia Southern F was drafted 20th by CHI as hustler in 89. Barely played as rook (0.9 ppg in 180 min). Traded after season to MIA for conditional pick that never vested. Cut by MIA, had a few other NBA cameos. Played abroad/minors thru 2002.

Hollander POTD Alec Kessler. Georgia big was drafted 12th in 90 by MIA (after trade on draft day). Had 6 ppg 4 rpg as rookie but time waned the next few years. Left NBA in 94 & became orthopedic surgeon. Sadly died of heart issue while playing pickup ball in 07. RIP.

Bonus Hollander POTD Campy Russell. Michigan SF drafted 8th in 74 by CLE. Good scorer peaked at 21.9 ppg. Traded to NY in 80 where he was more role player. Led NBA in 3 pt% in 81-82. Hurt knee in summer 82 + missed 2 yrs. Came back briefly for CLE in 84-85 before retiring.

Hollander POTD Dominique Wilkins. Dunking SF from GA drafted 3rd. Made immediate impact as scorer for ATL. Peaked at 30.7 ppg in 87-88+scored 25.9 + ppg from 84-94. Traded by ATL to LAC in 94 in a sad deal. He played out string w/BOS,SA, ORL+ Europe til 99. Made HOF. Underrated.

Bonus Hollander POTD Chris Ford. Villanova G via NJ Shore G, drafted 17th in 72 by DET. Good hustle guy and hit 1st 3 in NBA history. Also played in BOS. Got BOS coach job in 90 for twilight of Bird team. Did well but couldn't overcome loss of Reggie. Coached MIL & LAC too. RIP.

Hollander POTD Darryl Dawkins. Florida HS star was drafted 5th by PHI in 75. Was very raw, took 3 yrs to start. Strong dunker. Peaked at 16.8 ppg in 83-84 w/NJ. McGinnis on Dawks' temper: "he's ripped a few rims off the backboards & eaten a few chairs but nothing exciting." RIP.

Bonus Hollander POTD Chris Jent. Ohio State F was undrafted in 92 & played in CBA before hooking up w/HOU in late 93-94 for playoff run & won a ring as a proto-Bullard type. Went back to CBA & Europe thru 03 w/a brief cameo in NY in 96-97. Has coached in NBA for last 20 yrs.

Hollander POTD Glenn Robinson. Top Pick in 94 by MIL. Was a college star at Purdue but GHill and JKidd were better pros. Still, Big Dog had a nice career as tough scorer. Was All-Star in 00+01. Scored 20+ ppg 8x. Finished up w/ATL, PHI + SA. Won ring in 05 w/SA+ retired.

Bonus Hollander POTD ML Carr. Peppy SF from Guilford. Started in ABA w/STL but signed w/DET where he started from 76-79. Peaked in 78-79 (18.7 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 3.3 apg, 2.5 spg). After 78-79, signed w/BOS and became bench D guy/loud shit talker/towel waver/Laker antagonizer til 85.

Hollander POTD Muggsy Bogues. Wake Forest PG was drafted 12th by WAS in 87. Was a backup PG when CHA took him in the expansion draft + he started from 1989-95 (averaged double-double in 1993-94). Began having knee issues + reverted to backup in 1996. Lasted til 2000. Fun player.
