If more nations governed for the 95%, the world would be a happier and more sustainable place.
Should a comprehensive public inquiry into Russian interference in British politics ever be published there would be an overwhelming clamour to rejoin the EU.

Alongside declining polls for Reform, the good news about the Telegraph’s volte face on Brexit is that it gives Labour political cover from the far right to reapply to rejoin the EU. www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/the...
Told you so! The Telegraph denounces Brexit as 'unmitigated economic disaster'
We've now got The Telegraph joining the Brexit resistance, after the formerly pro-leave paper ripped into its 'near-disastrous' consequences.

The Daily Bile: never knowingly on the right side of history. Harmsworth/Rothermere is welcome to it.
The tide is turning. Even the Telegraph is now admitting the damage the Brexit deal has done to the economy.

So in a major move forward for workers rights, with some tweaking to get business on board, Labour MP Andy McDonald, branded the move a "complete betrayal”. He needs to grow up, stop attacking his party and focus his talents to solve next on the To Do list- like our chronic balance of payments.

Payola time is over Tim. What made you think it a good idea to defraud the state, put millions of lives at risk in a national emergency and pop the moula into a London property- at least you should have bought offshore. Shame apparently is no longer a thing.
The founder of an investment company who bought an £8.5 million London flat after supplying 50 million faulty PPE masks during the pandemic has had a criminal restraint order imposed on the property.

Sterling up, stocks up- the global markets like Reeve’s budget, or are not strongly against it. Maybe Vine’s cries of horror and the faux anger of Mr. Farage are more aimed at small business owners who loathe the concept of a suggested minimum wage and who typically underinvest in productivity.

Had Johnson and others been jailed for fraudulently misrepresenting Brexit to the British public we would possibly have had a more competent PM in place who would have taken his/her duties rather more seriously.
“Have they given up? Are they just deciding to build up herd immunity by watching us die? The government has given up, hasn’t it? They are throwing us into the slaughterhouse.”

www.bbc.com/news/article... Reuters research shows the Mail is trusted by 24% and the Telegraph by 42% (surprisingly) of Brits (BBC 60%, FT 57%). So the Daily Harmsworth can drag the Daily Bile down to its gutter level of dog whistle politics. Truly a perfect match.

The FTSE 100 at an all time high, mainly driven by record corporate earnings. Inequality grows every year. Don’t say we can’t implement a wealth tax, equalise rates on capital gains and income, and put an exit tax on those fleeing offshore like Australia, Japan, Canada, the US, France and Germany.

Like it or not, Labour is playing the incumbency strategy, seeking to close off all the opposition lines of attack. From immigration (Reform), renewable energy (Greens), managing bond market expectations (Tories), building ties with Europe (L.Dems). Despite right wing fury and $, Lab/G/LD to win 29.
How have Labour watched the Tories spend 2-3 years parroting Farage then lose an election badly and conclude a similar strategy is the best course of action?
I. Really. Genuinely. Do Not. Get. It.

Never forget the complete and utter chaos, from “We have all the cards” to queues of 7,000 HGV trucks in Kent to shutting Parliament to forcing up taxes now to pay for “Getting Brexit done”. Guy Fawkes would have approved. And Farage, Telegraph Sun and Mail want to finish off “Broken Britain”.
➡️ Brexit reduced UK GDP by 6-8%
➡️ Investment reduced by between 12-18%
➡️ Employment reduced by 3-4%
➡️ Productivity reduced by 3-4%

The Treasury should calculate the massive hole in the British economy that will get dramatically worse for every year we spend outside of the EU? These results are (should be) sufficiently shocking to force a parliamentary debate on this report. The need for tax increases is directly tied to Brexit.

The Daily Bile: “Rich New Yorkers fleeing Mamdani will find no relief in Sadiq Khan’s London”.
At what point do we charge the Telegraph with operating against the best interests of the United Kingdom? It’s a relentlessly depressing hard right propaganda piece whose sole aim is to talk us down.

As of December 2023, TMG reported a total of 1,035,710 subscriptions across all platforms (print and digital).
This total includes:
Print subscriptions: 117,586.
Digital subscriptions: 688,012. Presumably the missing 230,112 are as to reality as the Telegraph’s reporting is to impartiality.
The Telegraph's "attacks on the BBC are not remotely done in good faith & are the result of the publisher’s ideological & commercial interests. There is no world in which The Telegraph’s output would survive the level of scrutiny applied to the BBC’s journalism.”
