At an LDER/ @appgfairelections.bsky.social Fringe event, @ollyglover.bsky.social said "I'm spending a lot of time campaigning for Proportional Representation because our politics simply isn't working. (...) We need a politics that brings more ideas into it and where everyone's votes count equally."

Brilliant to join LDER and @unlockdemocracy.bsky.social talking about Votes at 16 at this weekend's @libdems.org.uk #LDConf.

I've been campaigning for Votes at 16 for 15 years and it's brilliant to see that young people will (finally) be giving a voice fairly soon

Donald Trump can stop this catastrophe in Gaza and get the hostages released.

Thanks to all our players and singers for their music so far this August. Tomorrow is our final coffee concert with John Bryden, then the Sinfonia Wind Soloists at 1pm, and the first of our Song School tours. And the wonderful Jo Clifford premiering Ringing the Changes at 2:30pm - don't miss it!

White Oleander is the official flower of Hiroshima because it was the 1st plant to bloom after atomic bombing in 1945.
It symbolized RESILIENCE & HOPE during the city's recovery.
This event transformed the oleander into a powerful symbol of rebirth & the enduring spirit of Hiroshima and its people.

⚠️ "Mayors serve many millions of people and manage multi-million pound budgets, yet can be elected by just a fraction of the vote"

💯 Angela Rayner is right that politicians should not be elected to important offices by First Past the Post

⚖ The same is true of MPs
