Cleanup of trash, buried abandoned camps, and lots of ducks along the Eel River yesterday. Thanks to the volunteers and city of Eureka for providing some tools and trash bins.

This week the Yurok Tribe and state agencies announced completion of the largest land back project in California history. 14,968 acres conveyed by the WRC to the Yurok Tribe marked the final step in a more than two-decade long, 47,097-acre (73-square-mile), $56 million land transfer.

Close to 500 feet of freshly rocked and packed trail in the McKay Community Forest. An amazing group of volunteers made it possible. The new trail will be less muddy and follow higher ground than the old logging road trail. #humboldt #hiking #trails join us at humtrails.org
