One of my absolute favorite things about any writeup of Dwayne McDuffie is WHICH awesome thing he did that a given author starts with, because there are genuinely SO MANY, and any one of them would be a valid headline.
Gonna continue this train and talk about another black creator that means a lot to me.

Dwayne McDuffie.

One of the founders of Milestone comics which was the first comic book universe that featured black and POC characters and of course Static Shock.

Woo! The new D&D campaign launch went over well at the library today. We started a little later because we picked up a third player, but everyone is on board for the premise and said they really enjoyed the session.

I was a little worried because I asked the kids to think on a different scale.

It is incredible how quickly "common knowledge" and skills can disappear from the public once they become irrelevant.

For example, making your own clothes. Apparently, as recently as the 50s, a good portion of people were making their own clothes at home.

Trying to empty my head for work, so I'm gonna lay this stinker and walk way without talking it out.

In RPGs, where is "the game". I have read RPG texts and made characters for pleasure, but the text is aimed at facilitating play.

Where does "the game" begin? With reading, prep or with play?

So.. this Saturday, I'm revisiting an old original D&D campaign idea for the library kids. I call it Mossburg.

I have a few different expressions of the core idea. But I last developed it for Shadow of the Demon Lord, so I have to tone down some elements for 5E.

My local D&D group has a chat and someone posted the new Mutants and Masterminds crowdfunding effort. SO I shared a list of physical superhero books on my shelf that I have yet to run or want to run again.

It's a significant portion of my collections, actually.

Since I was asked for the link, I'm sharing here again.

My wife, @rowsred.bsky.social, wrote her first romance novel *and* published it in 2025!

I'm super-fucking proud of her!

I kinda feel like I could have finally taken my shit here if I wasn't already pushing my limits with two jobs.

Do I know anyone who could use an RPG side-gig?
Do I know any folks who:
🔺love to create crunchy stat blocks and gear
🔺love dark fantasy
🔺want to pick up a little side work
🔺know how to stay on theme and concept

Serious inquiries only. Not a full time gig. Thank youuuuuu!

Thankful not to see my skyline full of videos of Trump shitting himself on camera.

That's just something I don't want to see. It can't possibly live up to what I imagine, so why ruin it?

I have to say, Marvel Midnight Suns is a much better game after you finish the story (because you can just play missions w/o story and extra systems trying the pacing).

Unfortunately, I'm burnt out on the game (again).

Happy to let it go to play something else for a bit.

As an undiagnosed autistic kid in the early 90's, I didn't have social skills, fortitude or support to go to college.

Instead, I ended up opening up a comic book & game store while also working full time retail. Burned out for the first time before I turned 22.

All my learning has been in the wild
Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college:

1.)Astrophysics
2)Advanced Calculus
3)Nonlinear Differential Equations
4)ahh, heh, Nonlinear Differential Equations.
5)Nonlinear. FUCKING. Differential. Equations.
Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college:

1. Artificial Intelligence[*]
2. Pharmacognosy
3. Microbiology
4. Software Engineering
5. Human physiology

A good start.

But even as a pure passthrough $10.2k per worker? Seems low.

"A fine is a price."

"Nothing stops until a white executive goes to jail."

Thus the exploitation becomes less obvious, less efficient, and endures.
Corporations will not exploit working people in NYC.

Uber Eats, Fantuan & HungryPanda broke the law — shortchanging workers while raking in profits.

Today, we secured $5M+ in restitution for 49,000 delivery workers.

Let this be a warning: steal wages, face the consequences.

Sitting in the local diner playing Pokemon Go and thinking about parallels with Christians who believe they are engaged in spiritual warfare against literal demons or devils that no one else sees or believes in.

D&D night. I'm very much not up for this, but there's BBQ and my friends are hilarious.

Another 3+ hours of shoveling last night. I still have some left in front of the garage.

But,q we're out! Just in time for me to do a rare commute to the office.

I won't finish before work, but I have to start sometime.

Cracked open Sentinels of the Multivers: Disparation last ling. Maybe I was not in a receptive mood because I found it hard to parse out the decks. Mostly, I ended up concentrating on story and I relaly liked what I saw. Can't wait to bring this to the table.

Probably the shittiest stacking job I've done, but I'm starting tired and sore from two weeks of carrying wood downstairs. Still, I'ld rather have wood on my porch than snow and ice.

House Rule: When "Wings for Marie" comes up on the random playlists. You have to navigate to teh album so you can play that and "10,000 Days" back to back.
