Heh... Before Napster and DRM, the problem was people who could afford *TWO* VHS recorders copying tapes.

Then DVRs hit and the industry went crazy. When they couldn't sue TIVO I to the ground, they bought it, crippled it, then turned it into a subscription service. Then streaming hit.

What's not included is everything we taped off of HBO back in the day. That was a thing and that VHS count easily rivalled the commercial tapes.

So far anyway. I only got through the VHS so far. The DVDs will take a little more.

I don't foresee taking much for myself, where are tastes overlapped, I pretty much have everything I was willing to pay for. Picking up anything now when the acquisition cost is so low... Well, maybe....

My dad is cleaning out some legacy media. I have five totes of VHS and two of DVDs to sort. Mostly my mom's stuff

It's not as bad as I thought it would be. I might actually be able to move some of it.

A reminder that things don't need to be good to be fun. A "good" crossover is usually exactly that. Not great, but fun to read and look at. A few twists on rote interactions. Maybe some clever one-liners.

I do get out to run chores once a weekend. I just need to make an extra stop. Today, expanded my loop and hit two groceries.

It hit me again that there are things I dont order for delivery because I prefer to pick out myself, like sweet potatoes for baking whole.

Since we started leaning heavily on grocery delivery, I've noticed that my variety of food for lunch and breakfast has gone down. Without the opportunity to browse, there's less inspiration to do something different. Worse, my autistic ass defaults to eating the same foods all the time.

And beyond that, there's some interesting questions to ask about the new status quo after the event. Mostly, what happens to Darkseid and any excess Omega energy. They may or may not loop back to the Challengers of the Unknown (Surprised one didn't make the bracket) but... We'll see.

Starting to catch up on this week's DC comics. KO? just the right kind of ridiculous for DC crossover. Love it.

You know it's going to be a bunch of punch ups with varying levels of fan service, but depending on who is making it to the end (It's Superman) there's some interesting stories to tell.

I still have to mount the base stations on the walls. I have spaces above power outlets. I need coverage when I'm sitting and standing, facing two different directions. And I have to be mindful of reflective surfaces, but I think I have that all mapped out. No way to tell for sure until I try.

Fortunately, Bigscreen's communication has been excellent in that regard. It turns out that the universal facial interface that is a feature of the halo strap can be used without it, so they are going to start shipping orders like mine by the end of the October.. or at least that was the projection.

I'm thinking about VR again... I haven't touched the Quest 2 in a while.. since I ordered my Bigscreen Beyond in April. I may pull it out again if I can make some space.

My BSB pre-order had been delayed because I ordered with the Halo strap which is still in development.
