Considering how far behind AI discourse still is in Japan, where a lot of people regard it as benign, it's so nice to hear a dude of his stature take such a principled stand. There are others from his generation who haven't (I'm looking at you, Kazuma Kaneko... 😩), so you can't take it for granted.
Via @automaton-media.com, composer Uematsu: “I’ve never used AI & probably never will. I think it still feels more rewarding to go through the hardships of creating something myself. When you listen to music, the fun is also in discovering the background of the person who created it, right?"

This makes me think about OW2, Marvel Rivals, and Fortnite, definitely not gacha games, but their battlepass systems feel similar. I’m convincing myself to get the Hela costume in Rivals, spent a bit on OW2 for just two passes, and in Fortnite I haven’t spent anything at all.

Been playing Wuthering Waves and realized I’m not built for gacha. Tried Genshin at launch, loved it at first, but it quickly got grindy, repetitive, and overwhelming. After hours it feels like I’m going nowhere, and that wall always kills the fun for me.
