When I think to myself, "am I really sick?" And then my cat comes and lays on me, I know I probably am. He hasn't been very cuddly lately, so this is a rare treat.

Jack the tuxie cat just might be the motivation that gets the baby crawling. They are both so curious about each other, but Jack is so skittish when the little guy gets excited and starts flailing.

The last 2 nights I've had dreams about past people and jobs. I don't recall specifics, but have a desire to write to a friend from college I really wasnt super close to (but a wonderful human) and to also brush up on skills from a previous (semi traumatic, but I learned a lot) job.

Dream: Earthquake in LA area spawns a new volcano and we're evacuating. Most of the dream is logistics on where to go, what to do about an address and how to sell the house with all our stuff in it... maybe now is the time to start downsizing...

4am. Little Dude wakes up and is just babbling to himself (loudly) from the bassinet. Just living his best pre-dawn life. Hubby gets up to feed him. Jack is nowhere to be seen. I scroll Bluesky. This is how our Sunday starts.

Since the C section, I've noticed some nights, when I get under the covers, I'll be chilly, but instead of getting warmer, it feels like there's a draft and I get colder.

I am a millennial (xennial, to be exact) and I never could get on board with ankle socks nor skinny jeans. Neither ever for me properly. Crew socks and boot cut all the way.

Been a wild ride with the LO tonight. A few things calm him down for a little bit, but quickly gets fussy again. It's so physically and emotionally draining. I think he might be down now, hopefully for a few hours 🤞🏻

While pregnant, I had gestational diabetes. This also meant that I couldn't get anything from my nearest #Starbucks as nothing in the app indicated there were sugar free options. In the months I was pregnant I lost all my stars :( #firstWorldProblems #casualtiesOfPregnancy

There's some interesting juxtaposition about me watching YouTube videos of an OBGYN doc reacting to episodes of "I didn't know I was pregnant" while in the hospital having my own pregnancy observed.

Woke up at 5am super hungry. Blood sugar is higher than it should be for 6 hours of not eating. Is that cut on my finger getting infected? Had leftover mashed potatoes. The cat was begging for treats but ofc snubbed them.
Still so darn tired hoping I can get back to sleep.

33 weeks pregnant; have a scheduled C section in 3 wks. Had my last day of work yesterday before leave, but can't apply for temp disability until 9 days after I'm off work, and I don't know how that works.

#GDC2024 was great n all, but the sleep I got being back home, in my own bed, with my kitty and partner, (and remembering that olive oil soothes acid reflux) has been the most wonderful way to wake up, actually rested today.

I hear things along the lines of "Once I become a mom, I won't have time for a shower to myself"
And I really just wonder about that.
I won't have to wonder long, I'm about 2 months out, but still feels off that that will be a thing that one "gives up"; basic hygiene.
