My review of Good Rebel Governance by Dipali Mukhopadhyay and Kimberly Howe is out at #ISR! It’s a great book with really interesting data from surveys USAID had conducted with Syrians in Syria during the war.

I first heard about Yemenis being recruited under false pretences in August.

Reporting from the FT shows this is systematic human trafficking. Yemeni recruit says they were forcibly taken from the airport, shots fired when they refused to sign enlistment contracts…all facilitated by the Houthis.
