Book one of 2026 is done! Very intriguing. Very interesting. Very thought provoking. 4.5/5⭐️s.
I had so much fun! I finally made some friends on the route tonight. Parade friends are always so fun and it’s been my goal to make some when I’ve gone out on my own. Orpheus is a beautiful parade with many callbacks to Mardi Gras early parades. Including flambeauxs & glass beads.

It is Carnival season in New Orleans. That means gazillions of green, gold and purple Mardi Gras beads. https://to.pbs.org/4rssiE2
How biodegradable beads may help make Mardi Gras more sustainable
Plastic beads are increasingly viewed as a problem, but a Mardi Gras without beads also seems unfathomable.

As Harry would say “One more time as loud as you possibly can!”
This will be the last parades of the season for me. Proteus and Orpheus (founded by Harry Connick Jr.), give me your best and I’ll give you mine. 💜💛💚

SOMETHING GREAT?! HARRY, please no. I can’t emotionally handle you doing anything with Something Great. It makes me cry. Very quickly and very hard. Like, I sob. Every. Single. Time. I hear it.
OH HARRY. 🥹🥹

The absolutely iconic Krewe of Bacchus. Generous with their throws. Unique throws for each float. Just gorgeous. Absolutely stunning.

Another thing that I love about Carnival time is that glitter, shimmer, headpiece and headbands, and kind of “costume” elements just normal for the this period of time. Which is wonderful to me because these are things I want to wear all the time 😉✨✨

King cake daiquiri and a lil Jell-O shot to get ready for this afternoon. Catching the back half of Toth and excited for Bacchus to see Drew Brees and is his special float!

Sunnies, butterflies, toilets, and potty humor rule the Saturday before Mardi Gras. Krewe of Iris, one of the oldest all female still parading krewes, kicks leads the day. Krewe of Tucks follows with toilet themed throws and very tongue in cheek humor (pun intended)

That after parades shower is divine! Ah, I feel so refreshed after a long wonderful day.

It’s barely 11 AM. The weather is brilliant. It’s Iris Saturday!! THE BEST DAY IF THE YEAR!!!! Happy Mardi Gras, y’all!! 🕶️🕶️🕶️

Last night was Muses. I now have a complicated relationship with this Krewe. But it’s not fully their fault. Their signature throw are beautifully decorated glittery shoes!

Made vegetarian kebab like sandwiches for supper. I also made some potatoes wedges. It was so good. The kebab were from an Instagram recipe!

That halftime show? Beautiful. Perfect. Everything it needed to be.

I walked about 8 miles yesterday up and down St. Charles. My feet are still a little sore but I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed it. I almost started crying on the way back to my car because it just made me feel so many things.
More parades for me this week. It’s the BIG week. 💜💛💚

I saw 4 parades today. Caught some good things including these nice big beads (and I didn’t do anything but smile and wave for them). I walked A LOT. My feet are a little sore but I had the best time!

Doing something I haven’t done in a long time: heading to the parade to just walk around and enjoy it myself. Last time I had done this was years ago. I’m excited!

The Friday before The Friday on The Avenue: A wonderful view

Tonight was Krewe of Cleo. A Krewe of all ladies (the biggest one), they’re known for their Cleo Cups & being early adopters of sustainable throws. It was a beautiful parade with lots of dance krewes, which are always one of my very favorite parts of parades.

I’m waiting till my lunch break to listen to Zayn’s new song and Myles’s and Niall’s (is that grammatically correct? How you show two peoples possession of something when using their names?? Why don’t I know?) song. Need it in my headphones 😊😊

When I go to parades this Mardi Gras season (well, I guess we’re headed to deep Gras, hate that term) , would y’all like to know? I’ll probably share something anyway but would I just be posting to the void???

Same. Same. Same. Same.
And one day, I will. But not yet 😟
*sighs* I wish I lived in england

I made some of the most delicious tacos I’ve ever had.
I don’t know if they were actually so so good or if I was just really hungry for them but wow. 😂🌮😋

Why does needing to do the washing up feel like such a monumental task but then it’s so satisfying once it’s done?
It’s like “OH my god, the DISHES.” 😟 but then it’s “Oh my god, the dishes.” ✨✨✨✨

Baby honey.
I love this jacket. LOVE. I also love that jeans seems to be a big part of the aesthetic for this era. Like, just a nice jean. Love that.
The ballerina flats are too much. I can’t handle it.
