I would say UAE is dimming Pogi's light by forcing him to ride TdF which he hates. And I wish there was room for him to say no to it. For his sake. Also for the spirit of the sport.
It's not criticism of Pogo, but of the pressure he isn't allowed to say no to.

Say things like "Unfortunately I'm stuck with the tour every year" in public and it's no longer professionalism. He so obviously doesn't want to be there. Compare to his other races where he's excited. I don't want this to be a discussion about "doing a job". It's about the spirit of the sport.

It really is. I also dislike the "I'm paid to do a job" rhetoric. It should be an honour to be chosen to ride TdF, shouldn't it? A magical journey most riders can only dream of.

The losing focus bit has begun but Rebecca's story turned "What the hell is going on?" into "Oh, this has urban fantasy vibes!" And maybe, if it'll weave into Dragon's story (soon!) I'll be fortunate to learn how this book ends.

This really is an odd experience.

Here's something odd: I really enjoy this book, but at the same time I'm not sure I'll finish it. It's a bit too Weird+Horror so I might get satiated long before I reach the end. But what I do read, I'll enjoy. 🤷

Today is an AQUA Rove kind of day. Why stop at 7 missions? I went for them all and was only one move (two with that specific movement card) away from completing all 11 missions.

...I think it's time to crack open the unexplored land of expansions for this one 👀

This house rule works for me, might not work for others. My issue with Everdell Duo is it's really difficult to succeed (even on easy/normal). Example: the Juggler card feels necessary to gain enough event cards (and VPs). I still love it though. A big game in a small box.

Any other house rules? 👀

🎲 Everdell Duo, solo
Managing two coop hands feels useless when they don't have different skills. Enter, house rule: combine the two hands. It ruins the theme of two mayors building one grand city together, but the game is still a Frustratingly Awesome Efficiency Machine type of game.

I've only tried the solo. The combos and the cards are definitely my favourite thing about it. I don't do well with dice randomness, but there are so many options in this game it doesn't feel like losing with low numbers. It's a thinking game, but not in a complicated way. Good for a lazy day.

I'm considering them Ember monsters instead of anything zombie related. Makes more sense. I've only played 1 solo game so far, but I much appreciate that it's an efficiency machine sort of game. I might tweak the solo mode a bit because the bot's sum of points seem too random 🤔

I had a sleepless night a while back and got stuck on board game sites. I found the Tyrant's End expansion for Unstoppable and on a whim I got Creature Caravan as well. A game that makes zombies *cute* by calling them Ember Zombies? 😍

I'm jealous 😅 I wish I could get them into water on hot summer days. You can convince one of them to collect a thrown toy from shallow water. The other will be waiting on dry land to steal the toy and take all the credit. They're lucky they're cute.
