Our offense has been struggling a lot when teams switch 1 through 5. Not able to create any downhill momentum off ball screens.
Really what we need to do is matchup hunt when Northwestern switches like that. Get Andrej Stojakovic in an iso matchup he likes or get Mirkovic switched to a smaller guy

I didn’t realize Northwestern is 56th in Kenpom. A lot more respectable of an opponent than I had thought given their 0-5 Big Ten record.

I don’t mind the volume of threes, but they have to come after the ball touches the paint — either via a post feed / drive or offensive rebound. We have way too much size to settle for jumpers where the ball doesn’t get inside the three point line. #illini

Abysmal shooting half, and we’re up 5 on the road. We’ll take it. The thing I can’t live with is defensive intensity. Northwestern running a lot of baseline screens that are confusing our guys and getting wide open looks. Also not enough urgency getting over ball screens. #illini

This game is just annoying so far.
7 more shot attempts than Northwestern but can’t buy a bucket. Not like the Wildcats have made much either, but they’ve been the beneficiary of the whistle. Haven’t felt like the defensive intensity has been there like it was at Iowa.
