honestly considering the way a good handful of tos episodes turn out i always figured those two have the exact same amount of respect for authority outside of the enterprise and that amount is 0.

i feel like spock has such an idgaf attitude about any authority that is not his direct command line on the enterprise, but because its spock its not super obvious- and any of his disregard is overshadowed by kirks much more open disregard for authority he deems unfit.
