In my eighties. A "Grandpa Warrior" still in good health and with all my marbles. Vietnam-era veteran. Anti-war activist my whole adult life due to Vietnam experience. Devoted to Gandhi and the power of non-violent action. Happily married 55 years.
Lest I get caught up in Thanksgiving, I want to say how grateful I am to you all. For all the people who have made the No Kings Alliance possible, for BlueSky, and for all of you who share your thoughts here and from abroad, Happy Thanksgiving (even if you don't celebrate it).

Why has Trump administration singled out Marc Kelly as their first target re UCMJ issue? Because, my theory, Kelly is up for re-election in 2026. Trump desperate to keep Senate in case Dem House victory. So a blatant, clumsy political hit on an honorable veteran of such caliber.

I know that this is a time that seems to often call our young to hopelessness. But I've seen worse, and in the end, we the People came through. We have the numbers. And I don't think Trump has the guns. We are on the side of great cultural change IMO and no cabal of rich old guard can stop it.

Senators on TV arguing soldiers should disobey illegal orders: GOP exploiting an ambiguity. Immediate action requires "manifestly" illegal, as I said earlier. Else, first check legality with local command. Impossible? Turn to judge Advocate General Corps or report concerns with Inspector General

Chains of command for one moment: Past kings' chain of command didn't end with King. It ended with God/Church as in "Divine Right of Kings". In democracy, chain of command does not end with Trump. It ends with We the People. Turn against us and he merits the equivalent of "Excommunication"..

Maybe already mentioned here: Marjorie Taylor Greene announced Friday that she has resigned from serving in the House. Her last day, Jan 5, 2026. (MSN News) Hearsay: She split with Trump when he refused to endorse her for a run for governor.

Normally, I don't contribute to political campaigns outside my state, However, I saw Aftyn Behn at the last Indivisible planning meeting and was very impressed. So, today she got my campaign donation, me a retired Independent voter. Hope all you Tennessee folks have done the same!

Reason why a soldier must disobey an illegal order: eg Commander of nuke sub goes nuts and orders missile launch toward Moscow. He has no permission from up high to do so. Crew must refuse to comply to manifestly illegal order. Nut case can even be relieved of duty. Chain of command protected.

I was an eye witness to the burning of DC after the murder of MLK. Martial law, the real deal. I saw the flames of 14th St, machne gunners on steps of Capital. Armed vehicles, PA Ave. 86th Airborne on call at my base. But never did I encounter the thuggery toward any citizen of ICE agents today

There is one more freedom that is not much talked about but should be: Freedom of Thought in addition to Freedom of Speech. Freedom of Thought is under major attack right now. For example, Trump's attack on universities. Not enough to follow. We must also BELIEVE despite verifiable reality.

Did you know that due to Trump's bill, next year ALL Hemp-based CBD products will be classified as an illegal drug, due to Mitch McConnell and his Bourbon lobby. Low THC Hemp-based CBD does not make one high. But it does relieve pain and PTSD. It's the only med that helps me sleep well.

An enraging part of this Epstein affair is that we see Trump USING Clinton just to revert to his old trick: diverting his base from realizing that their demi-god is neck deep in a scandal without any apparent pity for the victims. Instead, he plays politics.
November 15, 2025 at 2:35 PM
We are in the midst of a fierce propaganda war being waged by Trump and his dictator friends. But our Prez has become a tired magic act with the same predictable tricks. Things are becoming too hot for him so he of course pulls the "investigate the Clintons" re Epstein out of his worn out hat.

Last night's news: Hakeem Jeffries and Kathryn Clark pushing a House bill to extend ACA credits for three more years. My bet: it's a no go for Trump. But a good move on Dems part. Every GOP refusal now to act reveals their true motive for the long shutdown. And voter rage will continue to grow.
November 13, 2025 at 10:49 AM
RE: Epstein IMO (check it out) If Trump were found to have participated in statutory rape of a child, there is no statute of limitations either federally or by NY state law. If he knew about the rapes and concealed the fact, he could still be prosecuted. Any case, Prez immunity wouldn't apply.
November 12, 2025 at 6:00 PM
Trump strategy to kill ACA setup the long shutdown. Yet after 8 years, GOP still has no viable alternative to ACA. So, a GOP-caused crisis. One that will have impact on an already shaky, debt-ridden Mainstreet economy. Dems "cause" is clear now, to push GOP to solve this, or we'll see you in 2026

On this Veteran's day, I just signed a joint petition by veterans who wish to express concern regarding DOD's deployments of National Guard to LA and DC. It will be delivered to the DOD. Also signed ACLU-sponsored petitions expressing similar concerns to my Congressman. I may be old but Semper Fi

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was based on the healthcare reform program implemented in Massachusetts under Governor Mitt Romney (a GOP) in 2006. I think it was called Romneycare. Dems should now dare GOP Congress to provide a better alternative. Show Trump's gpt nothing to offer!. Just suffering.

CNN: "The Supreme Court on Monday declined an opportunity to overturn its landmark precedent recognizing a constitutional right to same-sex marriage, tossing aside an appeal that had roiled LGBTQ advocates who feared the conservative court might be ready to revisit the decade-old decision." Great!!

Like Putin, Trump by his recent pardons is no longer hiding that he cares anything about law, legal precedence, orders of the courts, or the voice of the People. This so reminds me of Putin's early pledge to support democracy but then turned Russia into am autocratic state.

Governor Josh Shapiro is delivering full November SNAP benefits to Pennsylvanians by swiftly activating payments after winning a federal lawsuit that forced Trump to release emergency funds. Payments began flowing Friday, Nov 7, and were expected to reach all eligible recipients by midnight.

I am proud to say that my governor Josh Shapiro has immediately funded ALL SNAP benefits for those Pennsylvanians in need. And boy, was he mad that Trump is still attempting to block SNAP funding nationally. (I really like this guy and I'm not a Dem).
