@thorazos.bsky.social is easily my favorite comic making person. I finally finished World Within the World. I own most of the zines in the collection already, but it's a really monumental collection. The amount of great comics within is staggering.

M.A.C. Attack is the raddest skirmish game. Ever wanted to play Battletech but then looked at the rulebook and noped out?
This is the big moments of Battletech without all the simulation crunch. Way faster, way more kinetic, easy to run. Same results less work.

Oh yeah I also designed and playtested a new boardgame today. Just finished playing 3 matches.

Busy day.

I just have no stomach for selling myself or marketing. I would like a chance to perform for the 10 friends that will actually show up, and then they can pretend to like it afterwards when I ask.
I had to do a lot of things very against my nature in the process of trying to book a gig today:

I shot a short video of me playing
I made an Instagram account and messaged a stranger there
I filled out an application
I signed up for a booking account and made a bookerpal profile

It's cool to have new music ready for live performance for the 1st time in a dozen years.

It's not cool to realize that I'm now so divorced from the scene I don't know how to book a show.

Feeling good enough about rehearsal today, that I'm pretty sure I'm ready to perform. Now to try and get booked after being out of the scene for a million years.

If anyone has a source of information about the cryptographers that tried and failed to crack the Voynich Manuscript, I'm interested in the actual stories about that. Not ancient aliens and theories, just the real stories about folks taking a run at it.
It pretty much sucks that we live in an age of misinformation. Trying to look up stuff about any real world mysteries just leads you to straight to text to voice shorts and ai slop and pseudoscience.

Some of these are getting closer to actualization.
Midlife crisis demands of me the following:

Play a show on the eastcoast
Collaborate with a dancer to make a real weird performance
Get a rapper to spit over my music at a show
Get one of my records on vinyl
Get a copy of a TTRPG book I wrote printed for myself
Run a TTRPG I made at a con

After 4 years of making only one video about Dark Souls 3 and then not turning it properly into a series, today I'm righting that wrong!

Dark Souls 3 Dissected is back with a brand new episode about its Invisible Walls and weird collisions!

I love talking about game theory, but it feels like the only place left for that is Reddit. Reddit is full to the brim with folks that certainly read a lot of rulebooks, but I'm unsure if they have ever played any game.

I love Chronomutants, but my biggest design regret is that though it is simple to play, the rulebook is insanely long.

Happy to report that the player rules for game 2 fit on 6 pages, and I reckon the GM rules will fit on 7 more.

It was a lot easier to create game systems when I was much worse at creating game systems.

It's much easier to fix something broken than to polish something that is working.
