🚨 The EU is trying to quietly weaken nature laws during summer break. We have 10 days to stop this.

Fam, Dr. Houry is on BlueSky. She was the Chief Medical Officer at the CDC before she and several others very publicly resigned in response to the clear and present danger posed by RFK Jr.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend that you follow this extraordinary woman and leader.

Thank you! I think that techniques discussion is so important for studying microbes in plants (or any other question in science). Each approach has its pros and cons depending on what question you want to answer, and IMO, a combination of methods is best for holistic answers

I did an interview with the In Defense of Plants podcast about my journey into researching seed microbiota, some of what we currently know and what remains to be explored! You can check it out here: www.indefenseofplants.com/podcast/2025...

Did u know?Pollinators & wildflowers (weeds)have evolved together over millennia. This natural partnership should be allowed to flourish in our own outside spaces. White Dead Nettle is a perfect example of this, especially as it starts flowering, early in the season, when food can be scarce. 🌱🌿🇬🇧🌱🌍🪲🐝

Plants and animals deploy toxins most often in order to defend themselves. Learning how they do that and what happens when the human body is exposed to these substances can offer insights on how to prevent or manage these encounters with nature. (via @us.theconversation.com)

The revolution will be localized.

Find organizations to join and support in your community.

Build resistance networks with your friends, family and colleagues.

Attend trainings on non-cooperation and train others with what you learn.

Building a national movement starts with you—in your backyard.

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

Among the many family, friends and colleagues who supported my grad school journey, I must thank my fuzzy baby Kaylee. I adopted her a week after moving to Davis, and she’s been on so many adventures with me these 5 years. Now she’s honorary Dr. Fuzz!

Happy National Pollination Week! This is a small carpenter bee (Ceratina) on Venus’s Looking Glass (Triodanis) from late May in John’s Creek GA. #bees #bugsky #insects #macro #pollination
Face-on view of a purple flower with five narrow petals radiating from a white center. A dark metallic blue bee, about the length of one of the petals, is resting on the flower. It has a small white mark on its face and hairs dusted with white pollen on its rear legs.
