One in three older adults over the age of 65 fall each year. Balance and strength training are vital components in preventing falls. The Otago Exercise Program is an evidence-based home-based balance and strength program shown to be effective in reducing the number of falls and related injuries.

From 2019 to 2023 there was a 67% increase in the number of people aged 65+ hospitalised due to a fall in WA. Given WA’s ageing population, urgent action is needed to support the WA community.
