It’s Christmas market season! I saw these off duty reindeer at the Millarville Christmas Market in AB. It was pretty peoply, but always a nice outing.

UCP says they’ll have a committee to look at classroom complexity issues and that committee will guide their decision to hire 3000 new teachers. Hmmm. They already have a solution. Now they just need to manipulate the data to fit it. 🤔

Halloween is infrequent enough that my dog forgets he enjoys it until we’re about ten kids in. Now he’s showing up at the door for pets after failing to intimidate the first few kids.

I’m watching AB question period at the legislature ( I really do need to change the channel!). These slimy UCP guys have no other tricks than to blame the NDP or Ottawa. It hurts to be Albertan today.

I was recently laid off by ARTnews, a few days before the theft at the Louvre. The terms of my TN work visa means I can't freelance unless I donate the funds to charity. I'm open to new FT roles in business reporting and communications, and am willing to relocate to other cities, including Toronto.

Just after midnight and I’m still alternating between the game and the AB legislature, where the ndp have been able to slow but not prevent the egregious violation of the Charter rights of Alberta teachers

These UCP members are honourable in name only! I’m debating which riding to volunteer in, since my own riding is reliably NDP. I want them all gone!

All my teacher friends are discussing how we teach about government, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and representative democracy. The actions by the UCP today are going to have a greater influence on that unit than any misguided curriculum they may impose.

And the UCP has used the notwithstanding clause to end the teachers’ strike in Alberta. This is a huge blow to collective bargaining across the country. It’s time for organized labour to unite and force them to back away.

I’m watching Alberta Assembly TV to see how badly the UCP guts the rights of teachers. How ironic that they first have to honour a fallen former MLA, who was a longtime teacher, then sing the national anthem and have a land acknowledgment. I assume that all three acts offend many UCP members.

Today Alberta teachers, long treated disdainfully by the UCP, wait to see how badly their Charter rights will be violated. Every union member in AB and across the country should be paying attention.
