another day, another time SEPA is being abused for political reasons instead of actually protecting the environment
Those permits are currently facing a SEPA appeal over traffic, despite the previous existence of said Sam's Club
WinCo Foods is asking its Facebook followers, "about the possibility of having a WinCo in North Seattle."

Permits have been filed for the former Sam's Club location (13550 Aurora Ave N), which is across the street from an Amazon Fresh that will close this weekend. www.facebook.com/winco.offici...

Bob Kettle in shambles after seeing this
I was thrilled to meet with Mayor Michelle Wu (@mayorwu.boston.gov) today at Boston City Hall. I can't think of anyone better to learn from about what it takes to be an effective, progressive big-city mayor.

Maria Cantwell: (202) 224-3441
I just called and left voice mail messages for Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell to encourage them to vote no on DHS funding. It took less than 5 minutes. I didn’t need a script. Make your voice heard.

Transit riders have been forced to sit through traffic on Seattle’s slowest and least reliable bus for decades. Finally we have a mayor willing to prioritize mobility and the climate to improve our transit system and give Seattleites the freedom of mobility they deserve. Roll out the red carpet!

if running ICE ads wasn’t enough for you to quit Spotify, you should know most indie artists aren’t even getting a few pennies anymore for their streams. apparently that was too much of a financial burden for Spotify to pay out
In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

EXECUTIVE ORDER FOR A BUS LANE ON DENNY WAY LET'S GO
"Secondly, we're gonna get out the red paint on Denny Way"—finally painting the long-delayed bus lanes to expedite the Route 8, the city's slowest route. "I know the feeling of sitting on the bus, knowing that you could be walking up the hill faster."

HEADWAYS!!!
Next month Sound Transit will begin simulated service across the bridge. During this phase they'll run trains as if in regular service to validate operations and systems.

✅ During simulated service ST intends to welcome passengers on trains between International District/Chinatown and Lynnwood. 3/6

Maybe we should consider ferry service that focuses on moving people instead of cars so that it's easier to have slack in the system.

It’s so annoying hearing moderates espouse ‘good governance’ but they themselves can’t write a stable budget!
Taking the state further into debt just to maintain the existing highway infrastructure we have, all to avoid increasing the taxes we already raised to pay for highway expansion projects, is so wild. Ferguson's first transportation budget is even worse than I expected.

happened by the vigil by chance as I was biking home. sad to see that despite all the work done to improve the area it’s still not enough. we gotta continue the fight for Vision Zero
The person who was killed last night crossing Beacon Ave on a bike by a hit-and-run driver was named Allie. They were described as a "hard-core cyclist."

The vigil/protest is expected to take over Beacon and Stevens until midnight, if SPD lets that happen.
