Calm is a superpower. Trying to fit as much sewing and knitting into my day as possible. Plus cats, and gardening, and books.
My next couple of projects. I’ve finally cut into this lovely striped lawn for a TAL oversized shirt. And I rediscovered my April Jumper by Neringa Ruke. #garmentsewing #knitsky

All blocked and buttons sewn on. Adorable baby cardigan by @kiddiwinksknits.bsky.social. This is the #Vinterlandcardigan. Yarn is Crave Yarn Caravan in Realm and ITO Kinu in Pacific. #knitsy

#showmeyourknits I don't have a lot of gray items in knitwear. There's a blanket I gifted a nephew, a hat for a school teacher and a cardigan I made from 3 or 4 strands of leftovers. Which I did keep and it's super squishy. #knitsky

I’m not sure. I ordered the original cones 2 years ago.

Finished up another pair of socks. These were supposed to be for my youngest boy but between his growth spurts and my knitting speed, they are now mine. 😉 #knitsky

Looking at finished projects on instagram, I did a FBA so my waist seam wouldn’t be mid-bust. I also picked the smaller of the two sizes. (2/2)
February 2, 2026 at 10:41 AM
Yes, the front & back bodice pieces are the same length. So if you’re bigger than an A cup, it’s going to pull the waist seam up higher. I also have a slight curved upper back (bad posture) and it will shift back because of that too. (1/2)

Dang it…

Yup, or a pot of steaming water on the stove top. Or probably a few other ways I haven't considered.

Thanks! I tend to do this on button down shirts. And rtw button down shirts too. 😆 Who's got time for all those buttons?
February 1, 2026 at 7:02 PM
Well, my machine is on the fritz so no buttonholes (not interested in doing them up by hand). So I took the easy route & sewed the button band shut. #garmentsewing #zwgathereddress

Another day of milds temps and no rain means taking the bikes on the grocery run. #ebike #cargobike

Sometimes using weight while it dries will be enough. If needed, you can also gently steam it.

You've articulated that feeling perfectly. I've also come to the conclusion that using yarn and buying yarn are actually separate hobbies. This situation is also creeping over into my fabric stash. 😬

I just donated to provide warm clothes, a phone, and a ride home to our neighbors detained at Whipple and dumped without essential human needs. They’re getting close to their goal. Consider helping if you can.
This or just dumping people *in the woods* AND sending folks out w/o their phone or I.D.

Volunteers w/ Safe Haven wait at the gate & do sweeps of the woods, with warm clothes, a burner, and a ride home, "so no one is left alone at the gate."

I donated; pls join me if you can: gofund.me/7d506a3d0
I spent the evening outside the Whipple federal building in Minneapolis, where the feds have been releasing people they detained — often for no discernible reason — into the freezing cold... wearing whatever little clothing they had on at the time they were taken.

I’ve totally skipped button bands/buttonholes on traditional button up shirts before so it’s a definite possibility.

Terrible lighting but it’s basically finished. Just need to decide on the closure. Buttons, snaps or sewing it up….decisions, decisions. #garmentsewing #sewsky

I’m finally making this zero waste dress pattern. I modified the front bodice & pockets slightly. So far it’s coming together nicely. Details in the alt text. #zwgathereddress #garmentsewing
