Koh: I think what we are seeing is what the founding fathers feared the most, which is the collapse of our checks and balances. The Supreme court is supposed to be a co-equal branch of government. It's basically a mouthpiece for Donald Trump at this point.

I watched the end of the Burns American Revolution documentary tonight and was so sad abiut how the hope of the Constitution and Bill of Rights has been betrayed, the separation of powers destroyed in all but name.

I watched the end of the Burns American Revolution documentary tonight and was so sad abiut how the hope of the Constitution and Bill of Rights has been betrayed, the separation of powers destroyed in all but name.
I got new headshots today, and they all look weird to me. I realized that's because the last time my face was this slim was a good 15 years ago, so the face I have now doesn't match the one I had lately while much heavier or the thinner one when I was much younger. This is a nice strangeness.

I'm so mentally wiped by the end of the day that I'm grateful for the emojis so I can rely on them like heiroglyphics and not have to try so hard to form coherent sentences. I don't enjoy that part about getting older.

I'm meeting these two cuties Friday afternoon to see if they'd like to join my family. They're a bonded pair around 5 years old and their owner can't care for them anymore. I'm excited and a little nervous as I have only had cats, never dogs.

I got an unhinged email response from a patent office ombudsman this morning and I am so disturbed by it I'm not sure how to get my mind back into functioning work mode. Things are far worse at the USPTO because of Trump than I thought, and I thought it was pretty damn bad.

I lost count but I saw DBT somewhere around 40 times between 2003 and 2012 and a few times since then. Others in my "never enough" list are L.A. Guns, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Bob Dylan.

Holy shit. I did not expect the Drive-By Truckers with Jason Isbell classic lineup reunion on Colbert to feature "Hell No, I Ain't Happy"!!! My god that took me back and made me feel young again in the best way. I think that stuff is in my DNA. How TF is the Decoration Day LP 20 years old though?

Just FYI a POTUS, not even this POSOTUS, can't overturn pardons issued by a previous POTUS. Nor can one rescind executive orders via social media post. Nor can any of them prevent hurricanes from striking the US. JFC.

I admit I'm nervous about adopting these adorable dogs. I've only ever had cats. And I am feeling the guilt that always comes with getting another pet after a beloved one dies. It's been nearly 2 years and I miss Doofy every waking moment. Maybe these sweeties will help my broken heart.

We just submitted an application to adopt 2 older bonded King Charles Spaniels through a rescue if they like us when we meet them. They sound so sweet. My mom can't have a cat and she loves these kinds of dogs. They sound wonderful to me.
