I've reanimated the blog on my website - I didn't even realise it had disappeared, and glad to see that previous posts have been reinstated. I'm going to try to blog a few things over the coming months, but for now, here's one of my most popular posts

Boundaries and "dual relationships" in counselling
Boundaries are regularly discussed in counselling and psychotherapy (and in mental health and wellbeing more generally). In essence, boundaries are the limits or rules around the therapeutic relations...

Watching Star Trek: Into Darkness before it leaves UK Netflix

Peter Weller is in it

He just said "but I made a mistake"

Ben and I both basically bellowed "now it's time to erase that mistake" at the TV

So far this year in knitting I have:
- cast on 9 new projects
- completed 5 projects
- frogged 6 projects
and there's still three blankets in limbo (one of them was started in 2013)

What's on your needles? I'm currently trying to finally use a while bunch of cheap acrylic yarns I've had since my teens (I can't seem to just... Get rid of them). Pattern is Seaglass cardigan by Wool+Pine

My partner has had a couple of referrals at our local hospital. The respiratory referral has an approx 26 week wait for an appointment. The urology referral is for *66 weeks*.

I don't like to yuck anyone's yum but I watched SAFE and it was... Not good.
I've only seen THE STRANGER but I will say: friends don't let friends adapt Harlan Coben.

I've done a couple of little knits since the jumper, but have just cast on a new Big Shawl to use up some pesky lace weight leftovers that have been in my stash for over a decade. I never really use lace weight and I'm keen for them to end up in something impressive.

What are your TV/cinema pet peeves? One of mine is the number of head injuries that people seem to just... Walk away from? They don't even puke. Significant knock to the head, and it either cleanly knocks them out like a light, or they basically walk it off.

Closed captions shouldn't give more info than you can get from the audio. I'm watching Rebel Moon (part one) and some of the non-dialogue captions (e.g. [Bloodaxe fleet approaches]) provides additional info that hasn't yet been mentioned in dialogue. It's basically a bunch of mini spoilers.

I don't know who needs to know this, but June plays wrong notes in episode 6 of the Brothers Sun. Those Es aren't supposed to be flat. I had to run to the piano and check.

Watching a recording from Counselling Tutor about autism-informed practice, and a bit bemused that Lees-Oakes keeps almost apologising for using the word "disability" (ie. "I'm using the wording in the legislation", "there's that word again, disability") - What's wrong with the word "disability"??

The manliest moment in all cinematographic history is Mads Mikkelsen vaulting over the counter in Hannibal S2E01/E13

Doing my occasional rewatch of Hannibal (series), and whilst it's *rammed* with bad science from across a broad spectrum of disciplines, it's truly a beautiful piece of cinematography

Fall of the House of Usher is horrible and vile and very very good. Mike Flanagan does it again.

This is bad because the NHS is in a state of emergency and EveryDoctor has just launched an important petition. If you can see this, please could you follow me and share this? 🤞💙🚨
