Painting gives me a sense of worth where there was none before. It took me 40 odd years to stop listening to negative thoughts and realise I could actually follow my dreams. I've painted every day I can since. I like to write too. #art #artist #painter #acrylicpainter #ukartist #painting #artlife

There is a window with an ethereal seraphim looking through and below we see Oma in her basket looking up to the window sensing the presence outside. On the window sill is a stuffed toy of Mr Domo, a Japanese character. A portrait of Oma and a speaker with a log lady funko pop on top. This photo was taken of Jack and his painting at the Wells Art Contemporary exhibition 2024.

This photo shows a painting I did of a local lad. I painted the second picture four years ago. Recently I received a old style typed letter on monogrammed paper hand delivered to my studio. He asked me if I'd paint him again but to his specifications and asked how much it would cost. I said I'd do the painting for free if I could use it to enter a portrait open call with it, but if it got in he'd have to wait before he got the finished painting. He dresses in 18th century clothing most days and wanted a picture with his replica sword. I soon realised it wouldn't be a fit for the portrait open call but still did the painting for free as it seemed like an interesting project. Maybe I'll paint him again in another four years. This photo shows my painting of the same lad four years ago when he was fourteen as a part of a project I did of Shepton Mallet portraits recording local people.
