Theatre guy, comics guy, dog and cat guy. He/him.
Just saw Hamnet. I was completely wrecked, but my spouse was bored. Still flummoxed at how we had such wildly different experiences.

No spoilers here, but I audibly groaned at the final shot of Wicked: For Good. I'm actually still mad about it.

Hey nerds! It's close to the end of the semester in my History of Superheroes class, which means it's about time to decide what new-ish superhero comic to assign my students to reflect the best/most important/most influential work happening today. Would love to hear some suggestions from folks!

Last night my spouse got to see the aurora borealis at the lake, while I was at @musicboxtheatre.bsky.social watching Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, so I think we both managed to see impossible acts of beauty.

I loved the pilot of It: Welcome to Derry, but for me the most horrific thing that happened was when the one kid's dad threw a copy of the original Flash of Two Worlds comic across the room.

You love to see it

I honestly can't tell if this is true or a shitpost
Can we get a 6-part prestige drama about Curtis Sliwa's career as a professional eater. Dude came in 3rd in Nathan's Famous Hotdog Eating, holds a record for most pickles, was DQed from a matzah ball eating contest for illegal ball handling, and the mob kicked him from a meatball contest.

Saw a trailer for Hamnet today, and it looks good and I'm going to see it, but there was a detail that really bugged me. In the trailer, we see Hamnet quoting Macbeth. Hamnet died in 1596, and most scholars believe Macbeth wasn't written until 1603.

My first piece of useless pop culture paraphernalia in the new place. He came with so many chains I couldn't figure out how to get them on him! The long chain is supposed to connect to his hands somehow but I couldn't get them to fit.

I'm at a friend's house where there are a ton of trick or treaters. My favorites so far have been Tanuki Mario, Larry Bird, a box of Tic Tacs, and Anthony Rapp

If that was the case then the smart move would have been to go and get it covered up or lasered off as soon as he sobered up, but instead he waited until there was an outcry. He might not actually be a Nazi, but he clearly didn't think it was a big deal and that's disqualifying enough.

The Jerusalem Post says American Jews aren't real Jews because we're too tolerant and too liberal.

I'm not joking.

When I was a teenager (and already sexually active), my mother said "You know the deal, right? I just have to say two things: always keep it covered, and never do it on my bed." Words to live by.
did anyones parents *actually* talk to them about sex?

its been a plot point in like every TV show and movie about raising kids for like centuries at this point but does it actually happen?

i think "the birds and the bees" speech is entirely a ficticious construct

Now that I have seen Bride of Frankenstein for the first time, I have decided that Ernest Thesiger as Doctor Pretorius and Una O'Connor as Minnie are definitively the greatest film performances of all time.
