Honestly, coding in Agent Mode feels like dealing with bad legacy code. It’s usually better to scrap everything and start fresh than try to fix that garbage.

This is a super illustrative video on how stable diffusion models work. TBH, I didn't follow all the math, but I think I got the gist 😛

Potentially interesting for building models in relatively data-scarce domains (eg historical language models)
new 3-token attention reduces pre-training data requirements

the pre-training scaling laws dictated that you have to scale up model size, data and compute in tandem. But this new method means you can double the model size without doubling the data

Fast and Simplex: 2-Simplicial Attention in Triton
Recent work has shown that training loss scales as a power law with both model size and the number of tokens, and that achieving compute-optimal models requires scaling model size and token count toge...

Academics might feel embarrassed when using AI-generative tools. In contrast, the industry encourages (and sometimes even forces) designers, programmers, and other workers to utilize AI copilots for increased efficiency. Is this yet another gap between academia and the "real world"?

Ultimately I think AI ends up being ahistorical because it runs counter to what good history should do - make its sources visible. A core part of history is to show how arguments have been formed from historical traces and AI hides all of that from the reader. /5
