Comic and horror movie nerd.
Cool conclusion to a fun mini. Gerry Duggan and Javier Garron cooked up some choice kaiju action with this. Glad they'll be coming back for a Godzilla encore next year with Infinity Roar.

These Predator minis definitely got better with each one. The first one with Wolverine was way too convoluted for what should've been a straightforward throwdown. BP was better, leaner, but the art was a little weak. Once they got to the Spidey one, it all came together and this is even better.

This rocked. Everything that Jed MacKay's been doing with AoR has kicked ass. At this point, I've pretty much checked out of the rest of this event and I'm just getting whatever part of AoR that MacKay's writing. I'll jump back in to the rest of the X line in a month or two when it's all over.

For a book whose first issue I picked up totally on a whim, I still find myself very much locked in after four issues. Thumbs up for Stephanie Phillips' lean, tight scripting but perhaps an even bigger thumbs up for Paolo Villanelli's art. I just love the look of this book.

Anything Jed MacKay writes is guaranteed to be worth picking up, and sure enough, he crushes it on this first new Nova issue. There's nothing flashy or showy about MacKay's writing style. He's just so rock solid on plotting and characterization. This is Nova's best shot at a long run in ages.

Zdarsky and Schiti wrap up their first arc and it's clear that Cap is in the best hands he's been in for quite some time. Not to say there hasn't been some fine work done with Cap over the past several years, there has, but not like this. It's going to be a character defining run.

This was...ok. Main story and the Nightwing and Wolverine team up were the highlights. Other stories, like the Hulk & Harlequin one, were mostly misses. Well worth getting, if only for Dan Mora drawing Batman and Deadpool, but the Marvel end of this intercompany crossover was more successful.

No comic ever had covers as cool as '70s Ghost Rider. The interiors on those GR issues, well, that's another story, but those covers! Nothing else jumped off the spinner racks like they did.

This Punisher relaunch continues to absolutely rip. Benjamin Percy and Julius Ohta are serving up a no nonsense bloodbath. This is literally everything you want when you pick up a Punisher book. Frank is a top five Marvel guy for me so I'm pumped to see him back and the creative team so locked in.

House ad for the upcoming IM relaunch in the new ASM. This Stegman art was seen when the announcement on the book was made but it's cool to see it in print. I am soooo hyped for this. Williamson delivered my favorite Flash and Superman runs in recent years and I hope he can bring that magic to Tony.

Wow. Killer issue. Joe Kelly has such a great handle on the entire cast of this book. May, Norman, Ben Reilly, Tombstone, they all get moments in this issue that speak so perfectly to who they are and their specific connections to Peter and/or Spider-Man. And JRJR helps deliver them to perfection.

Marvel house ad for all the various Spidey excitement happening in '96! For all the faults of the Clone Saga, a lot of new fans were minted in this era.

An unexpected choice for the new DD creative team, but a promising one. I might've preferred Erica Schultz on DD but I like Phillips a lot too. And let's face it: anything is going to be an improvement on the Saladin Ahmed run. aiptcomics.com/2025/11/14/m...

I sympathize with the outrage, but holding the line was never going to result in Republicans agreeing to extend the ACA subsidies. Best result of holding out was to force R's to nuke the filibuster and have them have to 100% own this without Dem votes. That's it. ACA was always going to be toast.
This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

Not surpringing to see Bendis doing an Avengers story in the anniversary issue. Pretty cool, but I'm just eager to know what else he's got lined up at Marvel. I hope there's an actual run in the cards and not just specials and minis. aiptcomics.com/2025/11/10/b...

Hot damn, this rocked. Balls to the wall pulp sci-fi action. A movie designed to speak to every nerd's inner twelve year old. This is the kind of movie that would've lit up my world as a Saturday matinee in the '80s. Just a glorious monster mash. Loved it. Hope Dan Trachtenberg gets to make more.

Well it took 8 issues but I can finally say that I full on enjoyed an Absolute Green Lantern issue! This is focused on Sojourner Mullein and it really does a great job of fleshing out her character and broadening our understanding of the town of Evergreen and the various players involved. Thumbs up!

Up till now, I've objectively admired the technical craft behind this run more than I've actually enjoyed it. But with this issue I felt the tide turning on that. The craft is still immaculate but it also felt like a warmer issue, with the characters having a more flesh and blood dimension to them.
November 6, 2025 at 8:58 PM
Good issue, kicking off a new arc. It's giving off series finale vibes, though, with past characters coming back and old conflicts looking to get settled. I'll be sad to see this run end, if that's the case, but whaddya gonna do? That's just the way of comics. Guessing a new #1 by Bendis is coming.

One of the best runs in comics keeps rolling. Another sharp issue from Jed MacKay and co that introduces a new supervillain and, in a fight against vengeful ghosts, finds an ingenious use for Marc's multiple personalities. Domenico Carbone kills it on art. Thumbs up, too for Davide Paratore's cover.
November 6, 2025 at 12:10 AM
More Avengers excellence from Jed MacKay and Farid Karami. These guys have been a stellar match on this book. Coming to the climax of the Kang storyline that's been its primary plot from the start, MacKay's skill with characterization and story structure is on full display.
November 5, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Based on the killer job Jed MacKay's been doing with Cyclops in his X-Men run, I figured he'd give Scott some great moments in AOR but this issue delivered on that in ways I didn't expect. MacKay is writing peak Cyclops in this run, proving again and again why Scott leads this team. So f'ing good.

Back in space with another fun issue! Joe Kelly has quickly established an entertaining rapport between Peter and the cosmic crew he's running with. All the familiar soap opera elements of Spidey translate perfectly into this alien setting. Guest artist Emilio Laiso fills in nicely for Pepe Larraz.
