It’s utterly exhausting to be grieving the death of a beloved parent and democracy at the same time.

One consolation is that my dad was never conservative. In March 2020, he was awoken from heart surgery and a nurse asked who the president was. He said immediately β€œthat asshole, Tr*mp”.
