yeah this is all just bad... i'm not against gambling or prediction markets but it should be branded as entertainment and low-sum. There was a site, Predictit, that did this. Basically penny stocks. It was fun, you still got a lil rush, but less risk. I made $200 betting $20 on the LP VP nom once
it’s a genuine societal catastrophy that gambling apps report on news and can influence their audiences to spend and lose money like this

The problem with this model is the Republicans also exist. You can't just sit back and ignore their signature issue, letting them frame it as their great positive with zero rebuttal. Weakening your opponent's advantage on their perceived strongest issue is a necessary tactic, and has been working.
I said that raising the salience of immigration was counterproductive to the goal of winning the senate races needed for a majority and I don’t think anything has happened that should change my mind about that.

What's actually been nice the last few years is that internet service seems to have actually come down in price ... and it's not just locking in a new customer deal ... I've gone from $120 500Mbps service to a guaranteed $85 for 5yrs to 2Gpbs service. So yay there, I guess.
