my 2025 review. #mecha

I recon this works as a good introduction/pinned post for me too.
:D

But... then people might find out I didn't post the first version first because I thought it didn't look as good as the second and then posted it later anyway because I'd been playing too many video games instead of doing new illustrations :O

Also then I'd have to name things :'D

Thank you :D It's yellow but the blue shading pushes it that way.
February 12, 2026 at 11:15 PM
Thank you :D
February 12, 2026 at 11:13 PM
Maybe :D
February 12, 2026 at 11:13 PM
Good call :D
February 12, 2026 at 11:12 PM
:D It was actually based on Freddie Mercury's look, but I didn't want the body to be white, so I made it black. the pink highlight was just a random pick :D

Yeah, I like the odd anatomically normie build, but the absurd proportions often yield things that are more enjoyable to draw :D
February 12, 2026 at 12:24 AM
:D Thank you!
February 12, 2026 at 12:19 AM
:D they're chonky thicc init :D
February 12, 2026 at 12:18 AM
:D 30% thigh, 30% knee, 40% shin. All the essential parts really, definitely appropriately proportioned.
February 12, 2026 at 12:18 AM
Thank you! :D That one was really fun to come up with as it has a very absurd bit of world-building to it; it was such a stupid idea that flowed really naturally (my favourite kind of idea).

Also, most colourschemes I did for a single design was eight; for that crab tank that turned out to have a mad coke habit.
February 11, 2026 at 11:09 PM
I just enjoy doing multiple colourschemes to see the same design in a variety of different ways.

I'd quite like to do alternate loadouts too, but I just don't have the time to get into that at the moment.

Mech from June last year, recoloured.

I can probably just stop saying "recoloured" whenever I post something for a second time (or more) because, whenever I do, it's always got a new livery.
February 11, 2026 at 11:06 PM
:D Thank you! Glad to hear it :D
February 11, 2026 at 10:58 PM
Thanks :D Much appreciated :D
February 11, 2026 at 10:57 PM
No; this is actually a blank spot in my knowledge, I've seen images of them every now and then, but didn't know it was a game.

:D
February 11, 2026 at 10:56 PM
:D Yeah, this one would be resolved with excessively futuristic mechanics, but I really want to solve it with some more grounded and sturdy connections. I'll come back to it again at some point
February 11, 2026 at 10:46 PM
:D
February 11, 2026 at 10:45 PM
Thanks :D
February 11, 2026 at 10:45 PM
Thanks, they've become the standard for my mechs (I'm now incapable of drawing normal feet).
February 11, 2026 at 10:44 PM
so... Pink watermelon themed mech?

I figured this one would be armed with retractable whips inside its arms, but I didn't draw them in.
February 9, 2026 at 11:17 PM
I should add that, though it may seem like a pun in the context of the conch-fists, they're genuinely called shell jackets, it's just a happy accident. :D
February 9, 2026 at 12:08 AM
It's a sci-fi spin on the look of 18th century military shell-jackets, it would be made from a mix of flexible light armour.

No reason, I just did it to play around with some different aesthetic elements. Every illustration I do is a mix 'designed with intent' and 'made up on the fly.'
