Interesting, I can understand why; it's cannon is affixed to the left arm, which is a touch unusual.
An interesting quirk of my illustrations is that everything I draw is ambidextrous (it helps avoid weapons obstructing the body in drawings and, in the future I envision, everyone is ambidextrous).

Thank you! I think it would occupy a role similar to that. I saw it as (though armed) not specifcally being a combat mech (mostly because it has a giant crystal for a head).
It's weapon is functional but mostly just a symbol of status, like the guards at the tower of London.

Thank you!! I've always figured my mechs use data crystals to store their OS, though normally this would be much smaller and stored internally... for obvious reasons :D
as for power sources I figure they'd have multiple sources throughout the mech so it could never be tanked in one shot.

It's weird, but I tried other proportions and nothing suited the head other than these familiar ones.

:D it does look very non-combative/ not hostile doesn't it? I mean, when compared to its own arms.

Thanks. I was thinking they might explode, for close proximity anti-infantry purposes.

Most of the time I'm thinking mechanically; purpose of components, what parts need to go where, just stuff to make an idea work and look somewhat believable, occassionally that thought process will have a narrative to it. Stories do help inform purpose and help make things look lived in.
