Frida Maanum finds the pockets of space in this midfield so well.

Constantly moving and aware of where her teammates want her when Arsenal are in possession.

Arsenal look so much more fluid and comfortable when she’s in there.

I think City do receive an upgrade with Clinton in the role they tried to fit Park into, but I also think United receive a player who is only going to make them more exciting. And for Park, she is granted far more freedom to showcase just how exciting she really is. [8/8]
jamiespangher.bsky.social
I write more about this in the piece, so do check it out! But personell is a big talking point in this conversation. What is asked of Yui Hasegawa is very different to what is asked of Zigiotti Olme, therefore Park's role is going to adapt accordingly. [7/8]
jamiespangher.bsky.social
This positional hybrid is something I expect we will see a lot of from Park at Man United. Her ability to find pockets of space and charge them is second to none, and this boosts the way United want to play. [6/8]
jamiespangher.bsky.social
Although in similar territory as she would have been at City, Park is now in a situation where she is the player with the most space to carry possession goalwards.

Playing at LW during this moment, Park works the space to invert into the midfield and score from distance. [5/8]
jamiespangher.bsky.social
However, this goal serves as the best example of Park's role at United and where it differs.

She receives the ball at the halfway line, and is currently higher up the pitch to serve the counter-attack than Terland, Malard and Naalsund. [4/8]
jamiespangher.bsky.social
At United, Park's role is already more free. Or as Skinner describes, less "constrained".

Her assist for Malard sees her receive the ball in a higher position than usual, allowing her to take the space and play a short pass into Malard for the goal. [3/8]
jamiespangher.bsky.social
Another near exact moment against Brighton where Park turns in to evade her defender, carries the possession into midfield, and plays the ball through to Bunny Shaw.

The way City play, the reliance on Park's role was to serve the forwards forward. [2/8]
jamiespangher.bsky.social
At City, Park was almost always utilised as the 'middle man' going forward. Her primary role was to receive the ball deep in the channel around halfway, gain the territory herself, and then play through to the forwards (Usually Shaw)

See this example vs Leicester... [1/8]
